Fitted the Wings exhaust & CRT dongle a week ago, great tip taking the top hanger bracket off first, I struggled a bit getting the hanger loop to close on my 23 701. The bike runs great & as mentioned it is quite a bit louder. Great post,✌ keep them coming.

Thank you. Quite a difference to your Tuono but you’ll have an absolute blast on one. 690 or 701 pretty much the same machine bar the plastics.

Viewer from the United States here! I’ve also got a 2023 690 SMC R with the Wings exhaust, same tail tidy, and I also did a Rottweiler Fuel Dongle. Super happy with the mods I’ve done and how the bike is looking (nearly identical to yours)! Great minds think alike!

is it necessary to have the fuel dongle or can I do without it for a little while, I have the wings exhaust already and I’m ready to put it on the bike, but I do not have the fuel dongle
@davidk59376 ай бұрын
@@Eudonis3 - Wings claims that you can run their exhaust without any other modifications, just follow their guide and do the 15 minute fuel reset as outlined in their install manual. The bikes run pretty lean at low throttle and below a certain RPM for emission reasons when stock and a more open exhaust could make em run more lean which would be a hotter combustion temp. I highly recommend the Rottweiler Performance fueling dongle. It’s very affordable and easy to install. Huge difference when in traffic around the city as the bike smoothed right out with the dongle. If you are doing an intake with your exhaust, you’d for sure want to do a fueling mod. Hope you enjoy!

Hi Robbie, great videos, I recently got an smcr 690, your videos are giving me some good insight on where to go with it. Mind me asking what the tax and import duties cost you on the wings exhaust? I’m going to order, know what the cost of exhaust and shipping but the taxes and import duties are a bit up in the air so not sure what to expect. Thanks! Dan
@Robbiemoto2 ай бұрын
@@dannyhayfield Hi, thank you. And congrats on the bike. If I recall right there wasn’t an import duty but there was VAT. I had to pay the courier company which I think was around £75-£80. There’s a few online calculators that you can use to give you an exact figure when you put in the exact price and delivery charge.

Hi and thanks. I believe i did, can’t recall on how much but delivery was pretty quick really. Again I can’t recall the exact time frame but wasn’t that long. I’ve had 2 exhausts from them. One for the 701 I had and this one for the 690.

Thanks for your reply 👍 Iv subscribed and will watch to see how you get on with the 690 !! Your the first person Iv seen who has done the fuel dongle and slip on without other mods !! Good to hear it’s improved it , think that’s my first move !! Will message you with my thoughts . I’m quite experienced with suspension and have a feeling despite the front forks looking high quality the damping internals are quite basic . Will give you a heads up when I investigate more !! Lighter bikes are often more sensitive to suspension they tend to bounce over rather than absorbing imperfections if the spring rate is to high 🙈

Hi !! Iv a 23” SMCR after previously having a 21” model . My new bike runs and performs quite well but as usual the fuelling at small throttle openings is quite choppy!! My 21 model I think was worse !! Gearbox and quick shifter on the new bike is a lot better 👍👍 but have to say I think the front suspension feels hard and isn’t very plush while the back feels on the softer side . It’s meant to have 215mm of travel on the front but only seems to be moving about 140mm . Any feedback from you would be appreciated 👍 Think the new bike is better but still needs work to make it perform and handle properly . I’m gonna stick with this bike and sort it . Not interested in more power but would like to optimise the fuelling and get a better feeling on bumpy back roads .
@Robbiemoto Жыл бұрын
I’m no expert when it comes to suspension to be honest. I can’t compare it apart from with the 21 Husky 701 I had for a brief time and it feels the same as that. I had the lowering kit fitted when it was serviced and when I went out yesterday I did find it quite hard. Needs setting up properly really. I agree power wise it’s enough for what the bike is but the fuel dongle and exhaust have without doubt opened it up more and less stuttery low down.

I just took delivery of my new 23 690 smc r and found the same the front fork compression was set all the way in backed it off to 15 clicks out from fully in and feels much more in tune with the rear now

If you have one fit it. It’s definitely made a difference for me.
@Bjork3n111 ай бұрын
It's been proven many times on the dyno that the fuel dongle does not work on the euro 5. What you're feeling is most likely placebo. Ecu flash is the only way. Running the wings exhaust without a cat with stock ecu will make the bike run extremely lean below 7000rpm
@Robbiemoto11 ай бұрын
@@Bjork3n1 I hear what you’re saying but for me there is a difference. I rode with and without the CRT dongle fitted with the wings exhaust and there is a difference on low rpm. Maybe there’s a difference in dongles ! Either way it’s running better than it did before. I plan on getting it remapped when I change the air filter.

Hi, i was thinking doing the same on mine but i can´t get any answer form wings about db s. Does anybody knows how loud it gets with this exhaust+dongle? I use it on track and we do have noise restriction in belgium. Thanks
@Robbiemoto10 ай бұрын
Hi. I can’t comment about track noise as I’ve not took it on track. The baffle that comes fitted is what I would leave in. It’s loud enough to give the bike a nice fruity sound but not obnoxiously loud like it would be without the baffle. The other baffle they supply does make it quieter I believe but I’ve not tried it. At a guess I would say it would be ok for track use but as said I’ve no experience. You could ride to the track and ask them to do a DB check.

Can you run a wings exhaust and fuel dongle with remapping the ecu?
@Robbiemoto11 ай бұрын
Having it remapped will do away with the dongle.
@RichardHinks-c1h7 ай бұрын
Could you tell me how much the wings ended up being with import tax etc
@Robbiemoto7 ай бұрын
Good question. I think the exhaust was something like £305 after the exchange rate as you have to pay them in Euro’s and the tax was around £80 if I recall correctly.

is the fuel dongle a MUST HAVE with the exhaust? or can I do without it for a little while, I have the wings exhaust already and I’m ready to put it on the bike, but I do not have the fuel dongle

Apologies I didn’t reply sooner. Somehow I didn’t get the notification. The bike runs pretty lean as it is so I’d be cautious on running without the dongle. But that’s just me.

I spotted your phone mount. It’s frustrating, but the manufacturer has changed from the straight mount ( the one you have ) to a semi curved one ! If you upgrade your phone. Please be careful, because the new phone case will be incompatible with your old mount.😢

@@Robbiemoto I agree … even they admit it’s caused mayhem for their customers! The baffling thing about the change, is that it hasn’t even delivered any fresh functionality or integrity! Robbie, its not a dongle its a Fuel Optimiser which isn't the same. The Fuel Optimiser was designed for Euro5 bikes and is NOT an O2 delete which some people get confused with.
@Robbiemoto9 ай бұрын
Hi. I called it by its proper name at the beginning, I just continued to call it a dongle as many others have. Interesting to know that some may think it’s a delete. I can’t recall if I said it in this video but in my review video I did say it basically alters the Co2 values so the bike runs richer.
