Winner is a masterpiece of a group . They're known for being real artists in the industry.Also, they have one of the best rappers in K-pop as their Main Rapper (Mino) and one of the best Vocalists as their leader and Main Vocalist (Yoon). They are the main producers/writers of Winner's discography.Their main Dancer (Hoony) is an actual Rapper who writes and produces and their overwhelmingly beautiful visual (Jinu) is one amazing Vocalist . It's not though, it was a temporary goodbye song before the older two went to the military, but fun fact, they're actually both back already. The younger two will probably take over the torch soon, they're that age, so probably they'll have one full group comeback soon and then the younger two will enlist. Even their debut album was sooo different for a debut of a male group, where it’s usually hype and all their debut album was pretty chill! Its still my favorite album since it came out! WINNER = ART They are branded as the "Uncrowned Kings", "Trust and Listen" and "Summer Kings". Winner might not be well known internationally but they are well respected and well supported by the public. WINNER and Bigbang are the only two groups that I've seen that have girls in their video always, not just a back up dancer but a part of the MV.As per Winner, you can just count on your hand their MV that has no women in it. Women are already usual to their MV that the fandoms are surprised if there is none. Well, even their debut teaser, Mino are already having a french kiss with a woman. Lol. Actually, the controversy in SOSO is not the naked part. It was actually seen as an art. The controversy surrounded that song was the chart manipulation. All Winner title tracks been always charting #1 in music charts, SoSo did not get that feat bcoz of the chart manipulation that were accused to happen that time. It was not proven tho. But it was believed to be happened. Thankyou so much RJ for finally checking out Winner. I hope you will check their other songs esp. their summer songs ISLAND and LOVE ME LOVE ME. They also have some ballad songs in their discography like FOOL and COLOR RING. Actually, their discography is diversed so you can hear a lot of genre in them.

When I discovered about WINNER, and then got to know iKon, and their survival show, I kept thinking: no wonder they won the survival show. iKon was awesome, but during that show, Team A (Winner) was more ready to take on the world. Just to clarify about the “backlash” of SOSO, it was NOT about Hoony’s “naked scene”. It was more about the song not charting high in music charts compared to their other title tracks in SKOREA. It was a totally different vibe than what they released before aka their epic fun SUMMER BOPS and overall happy/good vibes. So the general public of SKOREA wasn’t too crazy for SOSO, BUT international fans absolutely LOVED this song and MV. There was also some sajaegi aka manipulation/shady stuff going on the music charts with certain artists that was mysteriously topping charts out of no where. So that also affected WINNER’s SOSO. It wasn’t because the MV or that scene LOL.. overall SKOREA thought that MV was ART and the message of the song was understood. They just weren’t ready for SERIOUS EMO WINNER cuz they were enjoying CARE FREE/GOOD VIBES WINNER. 😂 Also, believe it or not, “almost naked/naked” moments in MVs like this has been done before. Former and Iconic YG artist 2NE1 did the same thing in their MV “Missing You”. CL had a similar scene like Hoony. Both scenes symbolizing someone being vulnerable and feeling small. Hoony said he wanted to show that idols are human and just as vulnerable. They have sides to them that they want to keep private apart from their celebrity life. They have their struggles mentally as well and they’re not perfect. SOSO is a song of many meanings and interpretation and that’s what Yoon wanted when he composed the song. It can be about a different emotions or stages of behavior/emotions after a break up, but it can also be talking about mental health in general. A kind of struggle or emotional blockage that everyone can go through when they feel like they are stuck in life where they feel numb to the highest of highs and the lowest of lows..the feeling of SOSO..the in between. That was what WINNER wanted to convey through their song and MV.👍

@@mercado4501 yes it made it to the music charts, but not at #1 or top 3 like they usually do or “as expected” from their title tracks. As I said, SKOREA wasn’t ready for SOSO cuz they preferred their upbeat catchy music. I know getting to #11 is still a high achievement as most other idol groups dream about charting even in top 100. But I’m just saying, compared to other WINNER title tracks SOSO didn’t hit #1. Regardless of their music chart placement, it is still an amazing song and beautiful/thought provoking MV. It’s one of my favorite WINNER title tracks.

Fun facts: - It’s not a WINNER MV without girls!! - WINNER originally debuted as a 5 member group with the youngest member Taehyun leaving due to mental health issue in 2016. So that’s why Yoon ended up becoming the “MAKNAE” haha he was the second youngest and he is LEADER so “MAKNAE LEADER”. Which gives WINNER a different group dynamic. Yoon takes control as leader when it comes to work, but when they’re in the dorms he definitely is treated and teased like the maknae or little baby brother of the group. This shows a lot on variety shows.. the duality though when Yoon is LEADER and then when he’s MAKNAE. 😂 - Yoon is the main composer of WINNER, but Mino and Hoony has also contributed their amazing composing skills in WINNER’s albums. Mino has helped Yoon compose some title tracks and he actually composed “HOLD” and “REMEMBER” which was WINNER’s last comeback as WOT4 because the 2 eldest members had to enlist aka due their military services for 2 years. Hence REMEMBER being a “FAREWELL FOR NOW”. - WINNER always experiments with their music and takes risks despite the mix reactions from their fans or listeners. They are true artists/musicians who always likes to improve and try different music genres. They always do something different every time and we don’t know what to expect from them. It is cut throat and hard because there is that expectation because they’re from YGE. I’ll also add that SoSo was released relatively soon after the Burning Sun scandal, so there was pretty much a witch hunt for anything YG related. It’s also why Treasure had their debut delayed, etc. It’s unfortunate because Winner is a pretty wholesome group and SoSo was a fantastic song. Inner Circles are one of the most chill Kpop fanbases out there, along with Melodies for BtoB, and LOVE for Nu’est.

Winner - FOOL is one of their most symbolic and artistic songs - its amazing and the vocals~ Winner and Akmu are really different compared to what you expect from YG - especially their artistry and the different types of songs they produce. They are hometown favorites and def has a special place in Kpop in Korea even if they might not be as well known internationally. If you like more meaningful and artsy songs I'd recommend... What's great about Winner is that they have done various genres including blues, ballad, hip-hop, trap and band music apart from their well-loved pop sound. All of their music being self-produced. They are great vocalists, amazing rappers and they have catchy choreography as well. Well-loved by the Korean public due to their no skip discography that's why they have earned the title "Trust and Listen". I've been in to this channel watching your Treasure reactions and even re-watching Tmap with you. But you had me when I saw this because Winner is my ultimate group. I've only known and fell in love with them on 2017 but since then, I fall for them more.They may not be as popular as other groups internationaly. But they are widely known to SK even individually.They have surpassed the idol status because they are already artists in their own. Winner is a self produced group.The Maknaes, Yoon & Mino are official members of KOMCA. Jinu, the one you always compliment as, "georgous" is the visual but has amazing crystal clear voice. Hoony, the one who's naked in SOSO , the main dancer, also writes and composes songs and even do some of their choreography. They are known as the "Trust and Listen" group, and "Summer Kings" in Korea. But their music is very diverse that they don't have a genre because Winner is a genre. They dont have bad songs. As a YG stan, i expected for a crazy beat drop too but for soso, the beat its hanging. But theres was a reactor who understand music, tell the SOSO meaning lyrically and visually. That's the first time i'm really amazed with WINNER music, especially SOSO. Their artistry super incredible and i guess only some people understand SOSO song. Each member representative the feeling of 'soso', and the beat drop too. I really like that and appreciate it. From WINNER music, i learn lots of artistry in music and the beauty of instrument and lyric meaning. For Hoony naked part, when the time that song came out, i dont know about the controversy it make. The meaning of that scene, if u see when he rap and walking on the table that show that people can act tough on the outside but whatever it is, as a human we are fragile in the inside. Hoony in his rap said, time can heal and he can find another girl but he still sad on the inside.

I've been into kpop for about 10 years now. From my experience, I can tell you that you are correct in thinking that you don't really see certain things in other kpop videos. It's rare. But, the more you explore YGE artists, you will see that it's pretty common in YGE artists. That's one of the reasons YGE is considered "rebellious" and "controversial".

RJ I encourage u to experience what a WINNER Concert feels like. They're having a concert this April 30-May 1. There's an online concert too. WINNER is the group where all 4 of them are successful individually but would love to stay as a group as long as possible. All, as in all their songs are self composed by mostly the members efforts, especially Yoon and Mino. You can make a very long Playlist of all their songs since debut to present, including their solos without skipping anything. All WINNER songs are soo good. Winner was in between the 2nd and 3rd generation, I think. Fans of these generations are totally different compared to the present ones. I love your insights here. You're very articulate, I love how you express your ideas into words. These boys are more artists than the usual idols, for me. Their craft and direction were very different, hence, fit them well. YG really doesn't put a suit or color as to what they like the group should show, but, they let their artists show their OWN color, their OWN innate artist self. I donno, but, I know for sure, I am a YG Stan because of that (no matter what controversy came and will come lol). Winner came after the Bigbang and 2ne1 era. They're a whole lot different. Winner is really great when in comes to Tropical/Summer songs or Ballad Songs. They even debut with 2 ballad songs, which is really rare in KPOP. I got into winner after the remember cb and I remember freaking out while reading the lyrics bcs I liked them so much like SO MUCH until someone in the comments told me it was just a see you later song as they went to the military service, I stopped getting into winner until they came back and I hope their cb is soon btw I recommend ISLAND next, I think that's one of my fav songs

WINNER is the classiest group I've ever seen. Their songs are masterpieces, they are art. They are just built differently. They also have girls in their MVs as well as other Yg artists, there are even kissing scenes haha, the main reasons why their fans are not obsessed with them cuz we treat them as artist, not our property.

Yes thanks for reacting to Winner they are my favorite kpop boy group! To piggyback on your thoughts after the Everyday video, I started getting in to Winner because they seemed to have a more "western" feel to their music and MVs compared to other kpop acts which is one of the main reasons they are my favorite. I hope you eventually react to more Winner MVs (group and solo) in the future. I love how artistic and thought provoking some of their MVs are. I also appreciate how they are not afraid to interact with females, whether it be dancing or even making out with females in their MVs and also the diversity of the females they work with in their MVs.

Remember was basically written as a song for the fans to celebrate how far the group and their fas have travelled together from their debut till now, it was written right before the two eldest members jinu and hoony enlisted in the military. Its kinda a way to celebrate, reminisce and also a sort of "till we meet again as one whole group" type thing.

With SOSO, the controversy is not about the naked scene (this actually received good reception from knetz), it's about the chart manipulation that happened which caused SOSO to just chart in Top 5 - Top 10. It was very unexpected for a WINNER title track to chart lower than Top 5 that's why it made even Seungyoon sad.

WINNER is a GENRE. They are called KING OF SUMMER for a reason. Their song SOSO actually deserves more. The people weren't ready when WINNER changed into a bit of a sad song, but as you can see, the song is such a masterpiece. I am still bitter it didn't receive the attention it deserves. Meanwhile, their song REMEMBER was more like a tribute for their fans because they released it before the other two members enlisted. Nonetheless, WINNER has continue to release bops after bops. This year, they are expected to comeback after the two members got discharge from military. Let's continue to support WINNER, the kings of summer! 💙

I hope you can also react to some of their older songs. They are very well known as king of summer songs, but I really love their “darker” songs too, especially their debut songs, Empty and Color Ring. For me personally, they are one of the groups with a very good debut song. I really love Seungyoon’s voice, he’s definitely one of the best vocalists in kpop. He also won king of masked singer for 5-6 episodes (if I’m not mistaken), and his vocal performance are just super amazing! And Mino is also one of the most talented rapper in kpop industry. Even though now I don’t really have the time to follow kpop as much as before, I will always have a soft spot for Winner ❤️

Ah yes!! Super awesome RJ! You did one on WINNER!!! This group was **literally** my gateway to Kpop back then. I mean, I knew about BigBang, but it was not until I listen to Mino's solo work, and then got to know WINNER, do I truly transition from listening to hiphop to listening to pop of South Korea. On SoSo, I listened to the song first and I loved it and was never really bothered to check the MV, until one day I did and mind blown... I think it's one of their best works. My favorite next to 뜸(Hold). Also, when YGEnt groups make videos, it's usually dark with loads of explosions (not counting Treasure since they are new), but look at WINNER and the colorful videos! If you have time and listen to their older stuffs when they were still 5, their music have developed so much. I love their old stuffs, but also more recent stuffs, and I cannot wait for their comeback!

This fandom is one of the most mature fandoms in kpop if not the most mature fandom.. Please checkout their other songs next line up- BabyBaby, Sentimental, Empty, Fool =) P.S.: it's actually common for YG groups to have Boy/s or Girl/s as partner/s in the MVs i think it's one of the ways they separate their artists from the usual idol images or to make the fandom get used to it and not be obsessed with their love life or something like that

WINNER is the first K-pop Male Group to do a naked scene on a Music Video. And that speaks volumes for me because that means they take their crafts seriously and would try their best to get their messages delivered to their audiences. They are always so involved in every aspect of their crafts, from music composition and production to their Music Videos. It safe to say that they are so vocals about what they want and how they want it and luckily, so far, they got to meet so many great people who helped them to achieve and realize their goals. They are very well-known for their summer bops and crowned as 'King of Summer', but their ballads are equally as good 👍🏽 Hopefully you'd react to more of their music in the future 😉

You found WINNER! 💙 Don’t worry, they’re not disbanding anytime soon. It’s just that they’re at that age when they need to enlist. Jinwoo and Hoony just finished and they have some time for a group comeback soon before Yoon and Mino enlist. Mino, Yoon (Kang Seungyoon) and Jinwoo (Jinu) have their own solos too! Hoony will have his own solo soon too. The fandom (Inner Circle) is pretty chill which is why we don’t mind when there are girls in their music videos.
