My daughter had the opportunity to meet them during the shooting of the Island MV here in Oahu Hawaii ..They used her classmates home and neighborhood for staging/resting while filming bike track scenes...I believe that's also their dog?..😂 As she told me "They were super nice, very respectful and a pleasure to be around." I of course was off island and missed the opportunity 😔. I believe they had an amazing time making these mvs here. Almost like a working vacation..

You've got to check out Fool, empty, hold, Ah yeah, sentimental, mola (dance practice version) And their solos like Yoon: Iyah, it rains, wild n young, better ft mino, his whole page album is a no skip album (it does have a song called skip tho😅) Mino : fiance, runaway, body, Tang tang, alarm, okie dokie with zico Mino has a duo with Bobby called Mobb so also checkout their songs like hit me, full house, ok man Jinu : call anytime ft mino Hoony doesn't have an official solo yet, at least that's what I know Edit : just got news that Hoony does have a solo called Flamenco. REALLY REALLY is a national hit. Like, it was all over SoKor way back 2017 that even idols kept on singing it on their live stream. Pity that it got robbed and never won SOTY, tho it is so deserving to win. LMLM and Island was shoot in Hawaii RJ. It is also the songs that get them a name as "Summer Kings". If you want to listen to their ballad song with deep lyrics RJ, I really recommend you to check out FOOL, COLOR RING, BABY BABY, and of course their debut song EMPTY. Yep, REALLY REALLY is confessing while being respectful which you not really find in other artists and idols (both western and S.Korea), alongside INNER only iKON has these kind of lyrics (which I totally love!). ISLAND is still my summer anthem to this day, I wish one day TREASURE will get to shoot an MV like that, in full relax and just them being dorks 🤣

Really Really is iconic and till this day one of my favourite kpop song! Also if you haven't watched Big Bang yet I highly recommend them another group from YG and I'd say the Kings of Kpop they are legendary and trend setters for what groups are today literally nearly every idol I know looked up to them and became idols because of them. I recommend Bang Bang Bang, Loser and We like to Party.

Yoon is the main composer of WINNER, but he has co-composed or asked helped from Mino on the bridge part of “REALLY REALLY” and they did “LOVE ME LOVE ME” together too. Of course Mino is also a genius and eccentric composer/rapper too. So his compositions for WINNER and his solo albums are unique too. Let’s not forget that Hoony as well as composed his solo tracks and some WINNER b-sides too. As far as lyrics, obviously Mino and Hoony write their own raps. So that’s why they’re listed as lyricists.

WINNER is one of the versatile kpop group I've known. They can do any genre and very talented. They wrote and composed their songs since debut. Plus, They excel in everything they do. WINNER started as 5 member group under YG. YOON the maknae and leader came from Superstar K, 4th winner. HOONY is from Kpop star season 1 also 4th place winner. They battled against another group of trainee under YG, team B, which is IKON now. They won from the WIN show (Who is Next) survival show by YG. Yoon and Mino are the main song writer and producer of all their songs. And each member are individually successful in their solo careers. The 5th member, Nam Taehyun was also a good songwriter/composer, but he went thru some psychological struggles that YG let him go when he decided to leave since the group was stuck on a very long hiatus. After just 2-3 years of their debut. WINNER was able to revive its glory in 2017, and their music genre changed too. If u can check later their debut album, u can see the difference. FYI their full album are soo good. Esp the ones that r not title tracks. A few of my personal faves: 1. Air 2. Raining 3. Hello 4.moviestar (fan song) 5. We were 6. Ah yeah 7. Fool 8. FYI: REALLY REALLY and EVERYDAY were filmed in LOS ANGELES and both MVs were directed by American award winning music video director DAVE MEYERS. So that explains the very “Western/American” style MVs and the whole vibe of it all. LOVE ME LOVE ME and ISLAND were both filmed in HAWAII! Back in 2016..actually late 2015.. WINNER was preparing for their 2nd comeback after a super successful debut. They flew to Europe for their EXIT series aka their comeback in which they would release multiple tracks within 2016 alongside mini albums. They even filmed teasers and different MVs, but they only got to one release for EXIT series and that was EXIT: E. Not long after their comeback, their maknae/main vocalists/part of the composer line left YG and WINNER due to mental health and he later said he wanted to pursue a different direction of music.

You've gained a subscriber~ Perhaps you could also consider checking out "Fool" (more on the emotional side) and "Hold" (quirky and fun bop)? "Empty" and "Sentimental" are songs that sounds somewhat upbeat but have "depressing" lyrics (as you mentioned before reading the lyrics to "LMLM") [songs as 5 - Taehyun was around for 2 eras of W which includes their debut (2014)] . Their discography covers a wide spectrum of themes and genres so the more you delve in deeper the more you'll find music by them that's more compatible to your taste. Regarding Dave Meyers directing "Really Really", he also directed the M/V for "Everyday". CL of 2NE1 (Leader of the 2nd Gen girl group from YG Entertainment) recommended directing W's single and as another commenter stated, he was reluctant at first since they're categorized under "KPOP" but after familiarizing himself with their music and art, he agreed and his experience with them must've been good for him to direct for them a second time round [Dave Meyers has not worked with any other Korean artists besides them to date] Ah right, also both "LMLM" and "Island" were filmed in Hawaii during the same trip (released as a double lead single from the single album 'Our Twenty For' (2017)) hence the foreign feel (similar scenery can be found in Jeju Island (a part of South Korea) however those were all shot overseas). At the time, two groups showed two different of sides of YG (same Company as Black Pink): Winner and Big Bang. Big Bang was HUGE, but Winner’s music has always been more my style. Seungyoon has earned a lot of recognition as a solo vocalist, and Minho is a very successful soloist also. I believe Winner must’ve just ended their military enlistment period, so I guess they’re ready for a comeback. Can’t wait.

Maybe..maybe not..remember Yoon talked about their plans in his solo concert as well as vlive. He’s planning to release a SOLO SINGLE and then WINNER will have a comeback with full album. He even said WINNER will be coming back SOON SOON..REAL SOON! There was a YG 1st quarter Artist plan of 2022 floating around social media. It said Yoon solo is planned for Early March and WINNER comeback end of March. Which makes sense as to why they will have their concert end of April/May. They will add new songs to their concert set list. 🔥🔥 Then later this year he will have KSY2 album and also LSH1 aka Hoony’s solo debut too!
