​@tocreatee3585 hyundai is now the only vehicle I'm looking at. All brands suck to a point. However, I have 139k on my 2018 base model, Elantra. Manual transmission. This is the most trouble free car I have driven. I check my fluids regularly and change my oil every 3500. Changed a wheel bearing....that's it.

While they do test their vehicles, they’ve become biased towards brands that offer better MPG’s, hybrids and EV’s IMO.

@@magnoliap5824 when they tell me a Ford vehicle - let’s say a Ford Escape - is better than a Toyota RAV4 or a Honda CRV or a Subaru Forrester, I know they are BS because I have owned them and sat in the shop with the Ford which is worth nothing at trade-in, and I have been the one in my Honda who helps the people who need a ride because their Ford or their Chevy is in the shop….or Mitsubishi which had lots of problems. I believe in Consumer Reports a LOT more than JD Powers….THEY get paid!

JD Power surveys random owners and lots of them. Nearly 100,000 new owners. Interestingly it seems JD Power got a hold of some dealer data this time around as well. Consumer Reports only surveys their subscribers, and not a lot per vehicle. There is huge selection bias here. It’s like if The NY Times only surveyed their subscribers on how they feel about a politician. Also CRs latest was on 2023 models while this JD Power is on 2024 models.

I don't agree with many of top vehicles especially with recalls and serious problems like Hyundai kia fires, etc. I did jd power survey and some questions about my Integra was not relevant and some things suggested was not relevant. Only problem with my Integra is power steering twitch which some customers experience as well but replace by Acura Canada at no cost. Another is key fob don't open trunk like all my other Honda Acura products and no unlock button in car which is not a reliability problem. Another is body panel alignment which is also not a reliability issue. I have no other issues and very pleased with this and all our Honda Acura products so it's weird to see others above that so many family and friends have problems with especially ram 🐏

Dave, me being a retired shop owner I can speak from decades of experience. I did not have my counter people wear uniforms we usually pulled the vehicles in and living in Florida people run the AC on max at 8AM, some of the bad odors were self inflicted being first thing in the morning. No evergreen tree hanging from the mirror is going to help. lol

Be nice if a material effort be made to show the difference in longevity and total ownership cost between pure play ICE and hybrid vehicles as I would think a hybrid vehicle would last basically forever. No shortage of hybrids now that's for sure.
