My mother suffers from vitiligo all her life. At present she’s completely white on her face with some freckles of brown skin. Never stopped her, Michael Jackson had something similar but he turned himself white to avoid the patchy look of black and white skin on face.

I seen a replay of the show tonight. To not mention Michael Jackson, the most famous person on the planet, and the main poster child of vitiligo, SMH, but not surprised. The media is trash, and sinking lower and lower into the gutter. They would face very uncomfortable truths about how they done Michael wrong. Michael tried to blend it in, but eventually as it covered more and more of his body, he had to go with the dominant complexion. I don't mean to disparage Winnie, but if she had gone one way or the other with trying to conceal her vitiligo, do you think the media would be talking about her. It's her piebald complexion that is her selling point. It's not a slight, it's the reality.

I also have vitiligo though I am quite fair skinned so it’s not as evident, although it shows quite a bit on my hands. When I first saw her I was quite surprised because I’d never seen anyone else with it except for Micheal Jackson I think. I’ve had it for most of my life and I have had some comments about it but I think it would have been worse if I was darker skinned. She is really pretty and I love her.

It would never be the same skin tone plus your skin is generally darker in the summer so it would still stand out. And you get more and more patches as you get older.

BUT she would be even more beautiful without it.. regardless she is rocking her own style and good on her for that.

@@AmiyaMariyam it's not wrong it's just the truth.. she has a medical problem.. she has no control over it but it does not magnify her beauty.. well it does in some ways because even though it looks alarming and distracts you from her beauty she is still stunning. Nothing wrong with that.. she is her own person and she wears her skin condition like a leopard wears it's spots. it's her and she is perfect.. but hard to try and say she would be less beautiful without her condition..
