Since the mega evolution speed mechanic unfortunately uses the gen 6 mechanic, I think running protect for banette will help it a lot not dying immediately on the first turn.

So now that you’ve beaten Winona, you should be able to buy Ability Patches which let you change a Pokémon to its Hidden Ability. Again, this is the only way I’m aware of to get the Starters to have their hidden abilities Also, be sure to update to 1.8.1. You get a free Battle Bond Greninja from the Name Rater guy in the Pokémon centers

The fact that pokemon are nearly level 80 at gym 6 is kind of insane! I mean this is already the level where nearly all pokemon have their final move sets. Having a Pokemon game that properly levels with the player is so awesome! Changes the game from "Grind till you ohko the enemy" to a proper strategy game. Edit: And of course I commented this before the rival battle...

Its not that their level 80 their level 50 for me because i skipped a lot of trainers and keep switching around mons, the issue for poor callum is that that trainers scale their levels off your highest leveled mon and since his pachirisu is so grossly over leveled its making it really hard for him since they scale off that instead

callun btw I think you should try meganium down the line for a water resist, its got triage essentially making it like blitz boxer hitmonchan but with healing moves instead and less raw damage. I used one with light clay reflect light screen and it helped a ton against the rest of the game

I love how Callum Raged in this game about how much he was losing b/c of the High levels. but he hasn't realized that they are basically like bosses in pixelmon, they are a set level above your highest, BUT he addressed it in the gym battles guess he forgot. (watching the video back the trainers levels are actually just scaling off of your pachirisu the trainers in this game are meant to give challenge to full EV and IV teams that are ALSO even level)

At this point in the game you can get a Snivy, and after you beat this gym you can buy the ability patch to give it contrary. At your level it will have Leaf Storm, and there's a move Tutor for Draco Meteor in Sootopolis (requires high friendship). One of the best mons in the game, hands down. It and Decidueye put in work in my first full playthrough (they bumped up Decidueye's speed to 110 so it's an absolute monster in this game).

Winnona was pretty easy for me cause i had a plasma fist electevire with scarf .So i just outspeed everything and plasma fist is a attack that hits everything .So she just got swept.Also Yay a new normal ghost finally my 2nd fav type combo .I am hype as Fuuuuuuccccccc
