They didn't blow it up. The car had a switch by the rear view mirror that went to the tuner. It would shut off if not turned on. I've got videos of the car b4 they bought it.

When i heard the part about how they could drive wherever, do whatever at that place, I instantly knew that the owner was either A. Massive fan! or B. Had never watched show at all / had no idea who these guys were (of course, when i heard the part about the car hitting 90 and stopping in one of the buildings.... I knew for sure). Big thumbs up to that owner! Very cool of him :)
@klickitatphil7755Ай бұрын
I once had an '01 Sequoia. It was a luxurious barge of an automobile. I ran it out of coolant until it clattered twice. The first time was because the front end was smooshed in from prior deer damage, and a pulley rubbed through a radiator hose. Got a new hose, shortened it, and there was enough clearance. The second time it ran out of coolant was because the plastic T fitting for the heater core gave up. I isolated the heater and plugged that hose and refilled it with river water. Good to go. The long-term fix was to get a brass T fitting. It's still running great according to the new owner. Those engines are built to burble despite adverse situations.

I bought a '02 Jetta Wagon TDI 5 speed brand new and owned it for 10 years. Ordered it at the dealership, Silver with Grey Cloth. It was $20K. I Modded it OEM+ style w/ 4 Motion front spoiler, Japanese Front Bumper rib strip , GLI vented rear brakes, Konis and on BBS of course. After 10 years I sold it for half of what I paid, it was a great car at the time.

My suspicion is the oil seal in the turbo let go and the engine ran away. Explains the copious amount of oil dripping from the cac and it not wanting to crank was probably hydro locked cylinder. It happens, engine is still ok just needs the turbo repair or replaced and cylinders cleaned out

If a 2UZ is anything like a 1UZ then that thing will outlive the heat death of the universe. In Australia it’s quite popular to take 1UZ engines, add a turbo from a diesel truck and make 450-500hp in a stock engine that was pulled out of a Japanese junkyard

When you said the guy got his crown vic up to 90mph. It made me laugh because it reminded me of something my dad and I did when I was a little kid. I'm 37, and I'm from California. My family has a small underground construction company. When. I was 7 or 8, my dad did some work at a large dairy. My dad was a street racer in the 70s. This dairy had a feed barn that was so long that he was able to hit 70 mph from a dead stop to the end of the barn with a 4 banger and a 5 speed
