Winter Halibut Fishing in Carlsbad at Ponto Lagoon.

I fish ponto in South Carlsbad regularly. Halibut, bass, Bat Rays, Stingrays, Leopard Sharks, Corvina and the occasional White Bass take my line. The Halibut are the most prominent species that I hook up.

Only getting Halibut and Spotties. Havent got a spotfin since the summer...Early October actually. Check my other videos to see me catch spotfin and Corbina!

Is ponto the same as bataquitos?

Yes, Ponto is the area by the ocean. Bataquitos extends all the way into El Camino Real, about 2 miles away from this location, inland.
