Hiiiii guys! The snow storm finally cleared and we woke up to some lovely weather here on Svalbard! Hang out with me, Christoffer and Grim for the day! I show you guys a typical Swedish breakfast and we go outside to play in the snow and clear up the mess from the blizzard!

About Cecilia:
Cecilia Blomdahl is originally from Sweden and moved to Svalbard 5 years ago. She works as a photographer and videographer in Longyearbyen, and also with her social media channels. I can't get enough of your videos Cecilia (especially since the sun came back, I can't lie, the polar night was a bit much for me ;-)) They are so joyful ! Plus a life ago, I used to work on cruiseships and we stopped in Svalbard once but didn't get to see a lot of it, so it's so nice to enjoy it with you ! As a Californian I’ve always been giddy around snow, but my colder climate friends say that that joy wears off with the novelty. It’s nice to see that you guys can still find joy in the snow even when living in the Arctic!

We also have Kalles in Finland :) I usually put butter first on the bread or the knäckebröd, then cheese, then Kalles. Or, butter + boiled egg + Kalles + fresh dill. Yummy.

I can attest to this! I grew up in the Northern US, where things shut when we got feet of snow, where you couldn't get out of your front door, then I moved to Newcastle, UK, and everything stops because you get an inch of snow, buses stop, trains stop, people can't get to work. It's quite funny, makes you just wonder what they would do with weather like this, it'd be apocalyptic. Cracks me up every couple winter's when we get snow, and they all seem so surprised, and you're like, we got snow like this two years ago, don't you remember?

Here in Australia I buy the Kalles from IKEA, and it’s absolutely fantastic. So salty and delicious on crackers. Last time I went they didn’t have any because it’s been hard to get the overseas products due to Covid. 😞

Cecilia, foolproof easy peel hardkokt egg: Bring 2-3 cm water to a boil. Put in steamer basket and eggs. Cover with lid, reduce heat, and steam for 13 min. Transfer eggs to ice water bath for 15 min. Eggs will practically jump out of their shells! Vær så god! --- I looove hardkokt egg med kaviar!!!

This is so awesome. I live in Israel, and it's summer all year around here. I know, a lot of people would consider it paradise, but I don't. Here, winter is so slow to come, and then so quick to go away. You're so lucky living where you do!

Your videos are making me appreciate winter more. We get several feet of snow throughout the winter and can have temps of -40 PLUS a wind chill on top, though we don't often get quite that cold but temps in the -30s PLUS wind are common. We had temps in the -40s in February 2021; if only we had your scenery.

When I was a kid living in Tistrup, DK. I use to eat Rye crispbread all the time...I remember my Danish diet being healthy. I should really get back into it. Much healthier than normal bread i think. Cecillia, according to Martha Stewart, to "correctly" boil an egg that peels properly do this. Boil it for 3 min., then turn off heat. Let it sit in the water for another 7 min. I usually take a fork and crack the shell once it starts to boil, which I think helps. Good tip!

Put the eggs outside in the snow and crack the shells with the backside of a spoon after you boil them. It’ll make the shell and membrane easier to get off the boiled innards. I don’t have snow so I have to make an ice bowl from the freezer but works great.

Life hack for boiled eggs! Use a teaspoon to get up under the shell and "pull" off sections. It usually works for me! Much faster. Love your videos!!

8:00 Ice bath (or put in snow 😄) after they’re done boiling. Separates the membrane from shell. 👍🏼

The view of the glaciers from the cabin is so beautiful. Loved Grim hopping right into the digging out the hole! If you want to extend your videos to 20-25 min I'd be perfectly happy with that, (wink), love your videos and always leave me wanting more like a good book or movie. :)
