About Cecilia:
Cecilia Blomdahl is originally from Sweden and moved to Svalbard 5 years ago. She works as a photographer and videographer in Longyearbyen, and also with her social media channels. Here on youtube she posts videos about her daily life in her cabin with her boyfriend and dog Grim. They are currently building a cabin extension, which is set to be finished in May. Btw - you may find it funny but a lot of people would love to see the 10min drive from the cabin in real time (with a verbal overlay) rather than a speeded up version. People are enchanted with your life so try not to ‘fast forward’ through it - just a thought..

So I'm learning Norwegian right now, and while it's still an extremely basic understanding, every now and then, I'll catch a phrase on a building or just somewhere in the video, and it's the best feeling of, "Hey! I can read that!"

haha, same! Honestly a fun language to learn, a nice change to the regular spanish + french i've done before.

@@possumgator it's actually not too difficult compared to other languages, it has similarities to english and the grammar/structure is fairly similar, you should honestly give it a try

Another day in Svalbard; beautiful, chilly but always heartwarming and inspiring because we see what Cecilia sees.🤩 ⭐Give Grim puppy some honey to make him feel better, it's the best remedy I can think of if it's just a mild cough🤒 (I don't know if Manuka honey from NZ makes it into Svalbard but it's the most beneficial)

It's so fascinating to see such a different landscape from where I live, but something so familiar as watching someone put on their mask before going inside the post office. I love how you've decorated the inside of your cabin and can't wait to see all the lights put up. Also, I would travel all the way to Longyearbyen just to give Grim some ear scratches and belly rubs!

Thank you for the tour including the post office. I'm impressed how, even though Longyearbyen is a small town in a remote location, it seems to be very modern and complete. Since you get orders in three days to a week, that is as fast as I get things in Dallas.

Security was thinking that they needed to inspect one of the "lights" packaging since no one needs three boxes of fancy lights. Ummm, my girl Cecilia does!!!! Yes, you do always say how beautiful it is there. Because it is! The weather you are having now is what I expected it to be like in December/January. The surrounding mountains look so soft covered in snow and the sea looks stunning. I have a cough just like Grim at the moment, I’m waiting for the results of a COVID test, fingers crossed it’s negative 🤞Christoffer looked so pleased to get a decent coffee, he has such a beautiful smile.
