The First Snow Bath of This Year WAS VERY COLD | Pastel Winter on Svalbard Has Arrived

The first snowbath of 2022 has been taken! I cannot wait to take more! Actually, it was incredibly cold haha not gonna lie. We spent the weekend in a cabin in Svea, 70km from Longyearbyen and had a couple of days of glaciers caves, skiing and having fun. Oh, the nostalgia. I have been to Svea in the late 1980s. They just had a polar bear sleeping inside the settlement so everyone walked armed. The bear finally woke up and decided to swim away, solving peacefully the potential conflict.

Same! Cold weather is a beast. Where I live it's in the 60's Yay! But in the summer we hit 105 degrees it's too hot we can't go outside until after 6pm. Either way I enjoy watching her videos because of the 🌨️❄️

I lived for 5 years in an old farm house rental from a coal mine that had no furnace (split lots of cords of wood), no bathroom, that outhouse was not as nice as the one in your video. Fond memories. A bucket with a bag in it and a toilet seat on top. That reminds me of ice fishing, here in Wisconsin. Even the manufactured ice shacks with satelite TV and central heat with full kitchens have a bucket for a toilet.

I had to build a snowmobile safety course this week at work (that's what I do, build online interactive training). When I was building the final exam I thought about slipping in an extra question: When traveling to cozy cabins by snowmobile, do you: A) Leave Grim at home B) Strap Grim down with the luggage C) Let Grim ride on your lap like every rich old lady with a Pomeranian who drives a Mercedes D) Place Grim into an attached covered wagon with lots of toys and warm blankies. The correct answer would be "D" of course! ;)

Beautiful video! Love the serenity and solitude of the area. A few more bears than I care to see but as long as you don't mess with them they wont bother you for the most part. While the rest of the world is in chaos its nice to see there a few places left that are nice and peaceful. Keep Svalbard peaceful and quiet.

I have just recently at the age of 62 almost, started swimming in the sea in Scotland with my friends Nicola and Virginia and I think that is cold. I cant imagine a snow bath on Svalbard lol you are braver than me Cecilia xxx😂😂😂

That looks fun! I don't know if you can get it but proactive face wash every day lotion comes in a 3 pack plus repairing mask...small tube...put that right on your blemishes gone in a few days. I tried everything over the years...this is the only thing that worked. If you feel one coming the repair mask works super quick...never breakout.

Oh I would have enjoyed the silence and the snow ( those colors of the sky with all the snow ) as well as the beautiful landscape. The silence is something I long for living in a town and in a big apartment building. It's Saturday early morning, and it's quiet here. I'm laying in my cozy, warm bed, watching your video Cecilia in the dark, and the clock is 06.23. My cat Trollet lays besides me making me to hot acting like a furnace but I don't want to disturb him yet. Soon I have to get up and start my day with breakfast and coffee but also give Trollet his medicine. He has a thyroid gland problem, so he gets medicine twice a day with a syringe in his mouth. I enjoyed your video very much and it was nice to see you both / all three having fun in the snow! Hugs, Susanne and Trollet.

I love this video and the cabin. I have a place up north in East Tawas, Michigan, USA that I heat with wood. You need to keep that thing really rolling to stay warm....every hour. :) But it's soooo worth it.
