WOW! The best guide I've ever seen. I suffered a lot to find out the correct gear for the Winter in Toronto. In João Pessoa, Brazil is too easy to find out comfortable clothes (highest of 34,3 and lowest of 19,0 considering all records).

Wow! Thanks so much! Yes, Toronto is just a little more difficult than Brazil ;) I used to always suffer in winters. In Toronto especially I looked for fashion over function, but now gear has both. I think it's all the lighter fabrics now. Dave and I even now, always go out for a walk every day during lock down and don't suffer at all. We just dress for it. Are you still in Toronto? This year hasn't been too bad so far, (knock on wood) but I think we'll be in for it in Feb.

@@ThePlanetD For sure! This year will be great because now we have a wonderful hope: the vaccine. Now, I am in João Pessoa and I moved from Toronto in Oct/19.

It’s amazing how technical it gets to dress for the cold! I live in California so I think the coldest it gets even in ski areas doesn’t compare. I just thought “layers,” but it’s really helpful to see the detail of how to choose which specific fabric for each layer, etc!

Lucky you living in California. So beautiful there! Very true, if we wear the wrong layers we just sweat. If I wear my parka when it's only hovering around zero it is too hot. Zero is good for layers and an outer shell and then as it gets colder we add the parka. Dressing for winter is definitely an art. When we dress correctly we can really enjoy the outdoors. When I was younger I used to always be uncomfortable. It'd either be too hot or too cold, now that I've done a lot more outdoor adventures, I know what to wear for each occasion.

Oh no! Sorry to hear you have had some floods. I will head over right now to check it out. Thanks for watching. It's been a strange year here in Canada, it's been mild and rainy and then snowy and cold. Today it's quite cold but very sunny!

Yes indeed. It can get very cold here. Which part of Canada are you planning on visiting? If you come in the summer, it will be hot, but in the winter, make sure you dress for it. Enjoy!

@@ThePlanetD I m planning on going to Ottawa. I have lived in the US, so I know how is living in subzero temperatures. I m in northern Brazil by the beach. It never goes below 22 C here. But down there in Curitiba where I m from, it does get cold and most of the home dont have central heating. Its expensive, so most ppl just withstand the cold weather on winter with blankets and warm clothing. Its not so bad, but sometimes when its really cold I did miss having heating

@@ThePlanetD Hi, which one would you recommend? TFG or CG if one had to pick one of them?
@ThePlanetD
@ThePlanetD 2 ай бұрын
@@brijeshshukla4696 Canada Goose is really expensive, but we have tested it up on the Hudson Bay in Winter and it kept us warm. However it is twice the price of triple fat goose. Triple Fat Goose works great for Canadian temperatures here in Ontario where it gets well below -20. I wore it dogsledding this past winter and it kept me toasty warm. For really extreme (for more than -30 I would still choose Canada Goose. I wear my TFG more in the winter at home, but when going far north, I still wear CG.
