Winter Woods Glycerin Backgrounds Stampin' Up!

the glycerin comes in a bottle and I put it in a unicorn bottle. You are going to love it for certain backgrounds.

i would advise a new stamper to emboss in white and leave out the glitter. you can also do the glycerin backgrounds over just stamped ink. i have it in other videos too.

Gail, I adore your glycerine cards! I looked on amazon for a little bottle like yours to put my glycerine and I can't seem to find the right one. What brand is it that you use for that and your glue? Also, what is it you put on your little sponge dobbers to grip them and how are they stored? I would love to see you craft room!!!!

The glycerin bottle I use are unicorn 30ml bottles, I use Mono adhesive and got the little bottle also on Amazon, it's by Darce. Fine tip applicator bottles. For my sponges, I punch out a matching piece of cardstock and staple it to the 1/8 piece of sponge I use. Hope that helps! I'll always get back to your questions. Gail

Hello Gail. I'm new to stamping so I have a question. Why do you use the glycerin when sponging. I never saw any tutorial were someone did this. The cards turned out absolutely beautiful!

The glycerin just makes the ink glide over the cardstock so you don't get as many streaks and blotches. It's really fun and makes it easier. You can get vegetable glycerin at any pharmacy or by the cake decorating. A little goes a long way.

I found the containers in the dollar store. I think there were 5 in each package.

GAIL, I just rewatched this video~~~question: when you did the “clear” embossing powder had you also mixed in some Dazzling Diamonds? Or was it just embossed with ONLY clear?? I am loving these cards/technique and am anxious to do them for a “gift set” but would like to HOPEFULLY have them turn out as lovely as yours! Again, my thanks for sharing your design n’ tips! You have to play with it but it's clear and dazzling diamonds. It makes it kinda like when we had Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

Love the cards. Do you have a video of preparing the clear embossing powder and dazzling diamonds mixture? Also where did you purchase your glue bottle with the fine tip.

I don't have a video of that. It was just some of the clear and a little dazzle. Less is more of the dazzling diamonds. If it's not enough add a little more the next time. Too much and it's not going to adhere properly.

Question, I’m new to your channel and I don’t understand what the purpose of the glycerin is? What does is do that using regular blending tools do not?

So when you are blending with a sponge, the glycerin helps the ink glide and blend more smoothly over your paper. I will also at times use it with my blender pen to color because it helps blend colors for dimension.
