Jari and Tomi Joutsen from Amorphis made me fall in love with growling. Before that, never liked it. You should check Amorphis, with songs like Shades of Gray, Silent Waters, The Bee and Silver Bride. Absolutely fantastic stuff. Their lyrics are based on the Finnish epic, Kalevala.
