WipEout - Evolution of "Contender Eliminated"

"Contender eliminated" is perhaps the most soothing thing to ever hear, except if it's happening to you. Pure has the best voiceover for it though. For the Fusion part you could've done it in Temtesh Bay Course 2 with the super missiles.

I love the very „British“ voice of the actual Wipeout Omega Collection the most! Only on WipEout HD though. Wish i could switch the voice and for example other things like exhaust colors! I love the blue beam but my my favorite ships are Red colored exhaust. 😢

2097 - Robotic and straight forward 64 - Customer Service voice. A little too upbeat (and quiet) about an elimination 3 - Overwatch voice from Half--Life 2 basically. Fusion - The delay makes it sound like they were confirming the elimination first. The male voice is kind of Mad Max-y Pure - A clearer sounding Combine Overwatch-ish voice. Very "British Authoritarian" Pulse - The modulated voice sounds even MORE authoritarian and sinister than Pure and Fusion. It's as if Margaret Thatcher herself was hissing into your ear HD Fury - Straight forward again. Sounds like a proper human announcer. 2048 - Like HD Fury, but slightly more sinister sounding with the voice's tone. Not as sinister as Fusion's male voice

why did this go from "contenders being eliminated from the player's pov" to "player being eliminated", just confused?

That's because WipEout 2097 and WipEout Fusion are a bit different.. in those games it only says "Contender Eliminated" when an opponent is eliminated. For WipEout 3, and all the other game in the series, it will say "Contender Eliminated" for any ship that is eliminated, including the player. Hope this helps

Also, Fusion has a more excited sounding "PLAYER ELIMINATED!" sound when a player is destroyed.
