I’m doing some really important research on people in the Orthodontic Industry that want to advance their career to the next level into the Ortho laboratory sector I want to learn more about their challenges, fears, desires and goals so I can create an online course that will advance them in their career! Does that describe you? If so, do you have time this week for a quick zoom interview? courses.retainerdesigner.com/lets-connect/

@RichardHasal6 жыл бұрын
Fantastic video and great text. Thanks. 🙏
@fareeha945 жыл бұрын
I read that bow should be at the junction of incisal third and middle third?
@RetainerDesigner5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have read that too. I have also read that it should be at the Junction of the Gingival third and middle third, I think it depends on the school of thought the author is coming from. I usually leave it at the middle of the tooth and let the doctor decide/adjust to where they prefer.
@fareeha945 жыл бұрын
I think it should be on the most prominent part of anterior teeth If there is marked protusion it will come more toward insical middle and for retruded more toward cervical, maybe that’s the thing
@RetainerDesigner5 жыл бұрын
@@fareeha94 I completely agree!
@annelinbemilla55036 жыл бұрын
clinically when does the patient is given short labial bow and when long labial bow???
@RetainerDesigner6 жыл бұрын
Short labial bow usually means it crosses the occlusion distal to the laterals (instead of the Canines) this is usually a Phase I retainer used to hold the front 4 anteriors in place while holding spaces fro the remaining teeth (Usually bicuspids) to erupt.
@rochiocampu11 жыл бұрын
What number of wire do you use? My teacher taught me with the number 36, but it's so thick and I can't manipulate the loops.
@RetainerDesigner11 жыл бұрын
I use .032 wire size it is eaiser to manipulate. So labs use .030 and that is even easier to use more flexible less stiff. Depends on the doctors preference. I use .036 a lot for soldered appliances like bands and loops and Lower Lingual Arches and other space maintainers
@rociocampuzano900911 жыл бұрын
RetainerDesigner Thanks for your answer. I will use 030 or 032 and my hands will thank me :D

I have a question! I'm a student, and they told us to make the distance between the wire and the incisal edge about 1mm only.. and it should be under the cervical line of the canine about 2mm And when I make it like your way doctor tolds me to redo it :/ So what is the difference between them and why it should be like that?! Thanks ^^
@RetainerDesigner7 жыл бұрын
+RAHAF DR i have made labial bows like that before but it was for certain occasions where the doctor wanted to tip the anterior incsial edge lingualy. But i would say the norm is to have the labial bow in the middle third of the teeth preferably directly opposite of the acrylic line of the retainer on the lingual side for the most stability. I got this from my lab school and most books on the subject. But! Every doctor has his/her preferences and you have to follow them. :)
