Yo great video thanks. I had the exact same issue wiring my canopy on my '21. Installed a load equalizer and it worked!

Was the wire just freely out or did you have to cut it out from the plastic tube that holds the wires in? I have a 2015 F-150 5.0L and am trying to do this. Thanks!

It was taped to the wiring harness with black electrical tape. It just has a black plastic cap on the end of the wire

What color is the wire that you are using for the brake light? I see its white, but there's like 2-4 white wires with another color that go into that harness.

I believe it was light gray with an orange stripe. I will be able to check in about an hour and will get back with you. The wire should be going into the harness, but isn’t attached to anything on the other side, it just has a plastic cap on the end

@@malachi9898 yes, the wire is light gray and has an orange stripe. It looks like it exits the wire loom directly under the air box mount along the inside of the fender (for a 3.5 EcoBoost at least)

Hi I’m trying to do this found grey/orange wire but no power on brake activation did you have to put a fuse in or something 2022 f150

@@nospark67 sorry I am just now seeing your comment. I did not have to add a fuse anywhere to get power to the wire. I know when I was testing it at first it was very finicky and would only have power if I put my truck in accessory mode and then turned it back off to “reset” it. I ended up getting a 2022 and swapped this shell over using this same process and had no issues
