Legend. Thanks for this useful and easy to understand video on the resistors. Only a matter of time before more people hit your subscribe button. Cheers

Hi, great video Some questions: Do the resistors normally come with the panel? Do you think it is ok to carry 3 zones through one cable on an 8 core? E.g Parallel wire the 12v power and use other 3 pairs for FSL zones?

Would it be the same for a texecom Veritas R8 system?

It was nice to understand the connection on the pir but when it came to the panel side I couldn’t see anything due to you waving the phone about. I would like to understand what do you do with the other free terminal on the tamper and alarm zone of the panel

Great Videos, Think of getting this system, what sensors need to be wired? have you got a video of the glass break sensor being wired? or the vibration sensor? not sure if they have wireless version as would be easier to install.
@alarmassist4 жыл бұрын
Bravia AF9 yeah they do have wireless ones if you are using wired ones it’s straight forward you it’s attach it’s just the same as wiring a PIR really. I personally wouldn’t use break glass unless it was required for Alarm confirmation for a monitored alarm as there not that reliable.

@@alarmassist Thanks, would you recommend the impact sensors instead of glass break? just want a sensor for if someone breaks the glass and comes in through window etc. i have noticed that they do contact and impact so that's a good shout not sure if they are any good though.
@alarmassist4 жыл бұрын
Bravia AF9 impact are better allow you to test and adjust so you can get the sensitivity right. I would go with that over the break glass.

Thanls for this. Can you use EOL wiring in any standard PIR? Ta
@alarmassist5 жыл бұрын
MatthewW yeah you can provided the control panel supports resistance detection. Most do

Very helpful video. If you're using the 4k7 and 2k2 resistors, what are the other resistors within the pir used for? Plus is this principle and same resistor values used for all panel manufacturers? i.e I'd like to apply this to my accenta g4 alarm, thanks
@alarmassist Жыл бұрын
Most Newer PIRs have built in resisters so if you can see the markings on the detector don’t add them just move the pins. All are different but most panels allow you to select the ones used. Accenta is Honeywell so could be 1k1 & 1k1 but don’t quote me on that. G4 is an older discontinued panel so chances are it’s only closed loop. I’ll check and get back to you.
@alarmassist Жыл бұрын
Yeah according to the installation Manual it is +v loop so can only be wired using normally closed loops

@@alarmassist thanks mate. I've fit a few over the years, but I'm no alarm expert. That explains why my local dealer doesn't seem to have them available on they're website no more. it seems its all texecom these days.

When I have worked on premier elite panels I havnt had to disable aux tamper it has done it self somehow
@alarmassist3 жыл бұрын
They usually come linked out. This was a second hand panel taken out a shot using a global tamper for its roller doors and high is why I added it.
@sukhi172 жыл бұрын
Might be a stupid question but I'm learning about alarms. What do the resistors do?
@samraby Жыл бұрын
The lower the current flow in a circuit. The higher the resistance, the less current that passes.

Do you need to put EOLs in all sensors or just the last sensor on the tamper circuit?
@lift_brisll3 жыл бұрын
It will be the last detector on your zone
@naastech4994 жыл бұрын
can you show us or tell me steps to add a wired expander to 8xp to the elite panel. i run out of zones. bought an expander and connected it but nothing shows up, don't know how to do it and there is no video on youtube
@alarmassist4 жыл бұрын
Go into engineer utilities and then confirm devices should say show up and once confirmed allow the use of the extra zones

is it possible to have pirs on eol and grade 1 door contacts with out any resistors
@alarmassist3 жыл бұрын
Yeah in zone settings press yes till you see “Double pole Eol” then press no scroll up to find “Normally Closed” and press yes
