I am 16 years old and my dad is in his 70s. My father met my mum in his 50s and he never had a girlfriend before my mum. He trusted in God and knew that everything is in Gods hands. As someone at 16 wanting to have a girlfriend because I want someone to be with, my father reminds me that God is in control and he has the perfect one for you, just wait and trust in God. I am very thankful to have a father like him and he has shown me to not worry, live life knowing God is in control and he has amazing plans for you. I had a girlfriend before who was non Christian because I just wanted to have a relationship but now I know that God will have the perfect someone for me, who loves the lord and will help me.

I deleted insta and Facebook 2 years ago, been sober for 2 years. Not by my own strength but through prayer, temptation CAN be overcome, that’s why the Bible says, “Pray so you won’t fall into temptation” Jesus said to Peter: “ Can’t you tarry with me for an hour?” The truth is, prayer is the opposite of fainting. Which the Bible says in Luke 18:1 :” And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” A good way to measure if you are spiritually healthy is that, 1. You feel light in heart, you feel Joy of God. 2. A song comes to your spirit and you sing the worship song. 3. @@hamilton9651 Keep figthing, my brother! Jesus is with you and He will break this cycle of addiction. Pray for him and ask him to take away this bad desires and forgive you from your sins. Even when all your strength are gone, the Jesus strength´s aren´t gone. He will give you peace and strength to figth against the sin. God says: “My grace is all you need, for my power is the greatest when you are weak.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) keep praying and meditate in His word, and dont forget to put that in to practice in your life. King David once said this: "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." (Psalm 73:26) God Bless you, my brother.

I got zero on all 4 of your points. I've never been in love so I have zero idea how its supposed to feel and others telling me how it feels doesn't help. The few relationships I tried to have only lasted less than a week. Last relationship I had many years ago she left for another girl. If that's not proof that im undesirable and unwanted then i dont know what is. I dont know if im a good person so I isolate myself just in case. Its near impossible to be in content with God when he never speaks back too me to either comfort or reassure. As for my choices I've owned them already but ill never forget them. Since im not a virgin I feel even more convinced that im unworthy of marriage, especially to a virgin girl.

I know this is something I've been praying about myself, and I came to the realization that I was in fact idolizing marriage. I believed that once I was married I would be complete. Needless to say, I believe now that the reason I haven't had a serious relationship yet is because God knows that I need to be complete in Him before I'm ready. Totally speaks of me, bro. I was growing up truly fantasizing about a beautiful relationship, and now at 28, truly desire a good marriage while many of my friends are getting married after a couple years of being in relationships, and I haven't started one yet, lol TBH, I do sense the burns in my heart desiring a spouse, but meanwhile, I know God's plan the best for me, I was looking into the bible to find some "answers" such as Paul's vision for marriage. God protects my heart to barely have interest in the girls who show shallow interest in God. I would say that currently, there's no one in my life circle that have my interest as God's woman. As I said, I strongly desire a Godly relationship, but God clearly tells me to love him before loving others. It's a journey for God alone and me, it's a battle that makes me suffer, but I know it is worthy bcuz of Christ, I pray to God that he has my heart alone, and I just want to say that brother, you are not alone facing it!

This is exactly what I needed. The holy spirit let me find this. I've been idolizing marriage thinking that it will solve all of my problems and flaws but God is getting me to see that I'm just not ready. I'm not emotionally, spiritually or even financially mature yet. I still have a long way to go in being content with just Jesus and a temper to work on as well. I want more than anything to advance in life with a lifelong partner but I got a lot of work to do before then and that's ok. Never compare yourself to any girl's standards! You are healthier and better off to simply grow from who you were yesterday and keep your eyes on God. I wish that I had seen this video sooner. I recently allowed myself to become completely emotionally reliant on a girl who ended up shattering my heart. I had stopped chasing God, stopped following my goals, and allowed my good habits to slip away. All because I put this girl at the center of my life instead of the Lord. God showed me the error of my ways and allowed me to break so that I could learn from my mistakes and find my way back to Him. I’m healing slowly, but I’ve now learned to put my trust in Him and lean on him completely. Hopefully this will help at least one person avoid the same mistake I made. I had a massive struggles with loneliness and longing for relationships, but as time with Christ passed, I was completely healed, and now I don't really have much desire for it, but rather fully enjoy my time with my church and God's people! At some point of my spiritual growth I understood that love is hard and I need to be ready for relationships beforhand, but Jesus and I have so much work to do in me, that it is not just there yet.

I truly feel the same way about this! I used to tell my younger self I needed to get married, but now as time moved on & my relationship with Christ grew more, I desired more of Him & less of what I want. I always tell my parents this - my priority is not to get married, it's to get to heaven & meet my Saviour. Glory to God if I get married & Glory to God if I don't. I've never been in a relationship but I've purposely restricted myself from being into one because I had to think one thing to myself : "am I doing this because I genuinely want to be in a relationship? or am I doing it just so that I can impress other people?". The answer to that thought of mine was the second answer, it wasn't really because I wanted to experience a relationship but really I was trying to show off to others. But I still didn't go forth of randomly getting in a relationship regardless of the pressure that I've gotten by family and friends. I've also come across people where they don't view singleness as much of a good thing and keep telling me that I need to get into a relationship and just get married already, but I realized that singleness is a gift and it's important that I take all the time that I have to learn to grow and have a connection with God. I'm not saying that I want to be single forever, I'd definitely be open to be in a relationship, but for right now I shouldn't rush things and learn to be a better person and to also learn to love myself first.

I realized this some months ago. That if i want to be happy and if i want to be loved i first have to realize i am already loved. I have to stop craving a relationship and find contentness in being alone. Because i know how i am i really can feel physical effects when i think about love. I want someone to love me unconditionally. That person can only be god. He loves me whether i sin, whether i do good stuff in his name. He only cares about my choices for my sake. Glad that I saw this video, it has really opened my eyes and spirit, I felt an overwhelming loneliness and was desperate for a relationship to maybe satisfy the need,but after watching this video, it made me realize that I am searching for the temporary pleasure of a relationship and I need to be where I am financially,spiritually , emotionally available to my partner and not to give half-hearted companionship, love and future. Currently 31 and never had a girlfriend before. It feels like no matter what I do, I’m not never good enough enough for a relationship, much less a successful one. I’m naturally not perfect, but it feels like I’d need to be in order to get anyone to want to have anything to do with me romantically… And at this point I can hardly even bring myself to consider a relationship because I feel guilty for even wanting one. Like someone like me doesn’t deserve such nor has the right to desire it. No matter how infinitesimal my chances of ever getting married are, I know they’re not absolute 0 until I’m dead so it’s just waiting to see where God takes my life. Aww. Hang in there man! Why do you feel guilty for wanting a relationship? That would be a good question to dig into with a therapist. It took a couple tries with different therapists, but I eventually found a very good one who's a great fit for me, and I've learned so so much from them, about myself and my fears and insecurities. Totally worth it!

I’m 33 and still single. I have prayed for years for God to tell me if His will for my life includes marriage or singleness, and got no reply… that is, until a few weeks ago. I begged and pleaded with God to convey His will for me. His response wasn’t what I wanted to hear… God told me that the decision to pursue marriage or not, was up to me. I found this upsetting, because I had hoped, and family members have told me, that God has someone in mind for me to marry. Now I know this is not the case. What I do know is that I am one of those Paul described as burning with passion. I am 47 and have been single all my life. 😅 I just want to say....i remember hearing a servant of God say marriage is NOT a reward from God. That is why we have people who are immature and not desiring God found a spouse. Ultimately, like many things in our lives, God's will reigns supreme. In His divine wisdom, He decides whether we are single or married and how long we stay in that condition.

This video just confirmed more for me today. I am in love with my best friend and our relationship was complicated. I want a serious relationship with him but it never happened it became to the point that perhaps it was more like idolatry trying so hard to become serious but there was always an obstacle and i also did lose my focus on God. Unfortunately he found another girl and moved away to go live with her. It destroyed me but now I know God is involved. I still love this man andI am praying that God touches his heart and he becomes saved and turns to God. I am married for 16 years, but God just showing me how I made a “successful” aka lasting marriage an idol. He brought me to a place of humility and surrender to the idea that the marriage could crumble due to my husbands addiction and lack of sincere repentance . It’s been so hard. But God is good. I believe HE can heal and restore! Now I’m trying to teach my teenage son these lessons. It’s not just physical purity but spiritual and emotional purity as well. I have been working in myself and my vices, laid witness to victories I never thought I could do. I grew a lot after my breakup found and got closer to God in a way I never was, and I wholeheartedly believe this had to happen, that God placed them to help me grow and go back home after being lost. Right now, I'm seeking more growth and preparation. I still love and long for the person. And I see that in the future we will keep meeting. We are both good people who made mistakes and fear crept in. I know that through it all, I will be fine because God is with me. I do hope I have the chance to reconciliate if given the opportunity. It took me a lot of hard lessons and a lot of failures before I learned some of these lessons fully. Being conformed more to Christ's image and being content with God is so important. For the other ladies out there I recommend listening to some of Elizabeth Elliot's talks as she's a wonderful example of a woman of faith. It takes as long as it takes to get where God is taking you, may as well enjoy the journey for all it's ups and downs. I've only recently found the man I think God intends for me and it's been worth the wait.
