Oh you know, on the point of the art direction, I could honestly see them doing a 3D2D thing like some fighting games do now, like Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball. Those games are honestly stunning to look at to me, I wouldn’t be mad at ALL if MVC4 took that approach. A more realized and poppy version of what 3 did. Sprites would absolutely be ideal though. If it were totally up to me I’d say just make it look like a PS1/2 game again straight up.

No matter what, I wouldn’t be SUPER worried about the look outside of hoping it isn’t more of whatever the hell Infinite was doing. SF6 is so stylish, the weird graffiti approach really drew my attention when they first started showing stuff off, plus the character models looking gorgeous.

The pulpy, campy, superpowered fun of Marvel comics fits a goofy crossover fighter so well. I've never been a comic person, but the MvC games just always carry such a lively, joyous feeling. The thing I want most from a new MvC is just to have that spirit and have fun with it. As I've aged I've definitely appreciated slower fighting games more, my current favorite being Sonic the Fighters, but there is a childlike giddiness I get when I see a 40 hit tag team air combo.

Sounds good. My ideas. Sprites are sorta kof13 like. Roster is around 40-50 characters. Mostly popular or important characters with some not as important taking up a smaller size. Unfortunately there are not that many newcomers that would be good for these games. Most of the important characters on both sides have been in at least one Marvel vs Game. Mechanics are 3v3 like Marvel 3 plus you get to make custom assists (except supers). Also X-Factor is back but not as OP. There is no full on netherrealms story mode. Though there are extra modes like a conquest mode where you can build up a party of characters to take on but there is Permadeath. Main story of the game is the Beyonder captures the heroes in his battle world game. Your selected team defeats everyone else before learning this was all his doing. Then you beat his ass. Arcade mode has you fighting teams that all the characters have some sort of similarity. Besides the Beyonder, there are also other final bosses. Some like Surtur infused with Pyron. Also previous bosses like Onslaught.

If Marvel vs. Capcom gets a new game, I would like to see new and returning characters like the X-Men in a better roster , better graphics, better gameplay, better controls, new story mode, a return of character ending after completing arcade mode, and future DLC.

The villain for the Premise could be super easy; repeat Secret Wars, but add a twist. In the original comic, the Beyonder forces the Marvel heroes and villains into a massive battle to prove which is better: good or evil. However, after this he comes back as a less serious being and flips around from being a lonely, all-powerful geek and sometimes helpful advisor until he has a mental breakdown. For MvC, they can lean more into the geek aspect and have Beyonder be a super fan of the Capcom cast and wanted to have a giant Battleworld showdown for fun sake. Then, for the final boss, have Bison or some other Capcom villain steal Beyonder's power, or Beyonder accidentally brought someone more powerful than himself that the cast needs to takedown to continue partying.

Hero, villain, iconic, esoteric. Picture the basketball court scene from Space Jam a New Legacy, and you're pretty much there.

After watching Avengers Endgame way back, I remember thinking to myself: Why wasn’t Marvel Infinite’s story just Infinity War and this but with Capcom characters? Imagine playing through the story, and then suddenly half your party is missing? Maybe your main(s) got snapped and you have to adapt with characters you hardly ever play as? And can you imagine how cool that portal scene would have looked with the Capcom roster involved? Feeling relieved when your mains come back and mounting one last brawl against Thanos? And then you see someone like Haggar trying to wrestle the gauntlet away from him? And everyone’s arcade ending would show what it’d look like when they snap with all the stones. But I guess there’d be a LOT of legal issues with that, so, oh well.

Pretty cool video. As far as presentation and graphics go though, I gotta rip the band-aid off and say that Capcom is never making a new fighting game, let alone a new MVC, with 2d sprites again, for many reasons. One of the biggest is that today's fighting game ecosystem is far different than the era in the 90s/early 2000s and requires monetization and DLC (both characters and costumes) to survive, and polygons are far too versatile over sprites. That is one area both Marvel, Capcom, and any other fighting game developer outside of indie devs will not budge on when making a new fighting game.

sprites and a large roster ain’t happening; sadly. it’s expensive and locks out cosmetic DLCs, so the suits would never allow it. I would honestly be happier with a 2.5D artsyle, and a larger roster, than force sprite artists to try and pump out 15-20 whole ass characters.

A 1p vs CPU mode, ratio match mode, single match mode, 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 mode, color edit mode, and groove systems for six button and four button or should I say button mashing and traditional fighting system from Street Fighter 2. And make it the Super Smash Bros Ultimate where it has everyone in one game and even stages, features, etc. and add an arcade mode similar to Street Fighter 5: Arcade edition.

Sprites are NEVER coming back because 3D models are easier to make and modify for fighting games so you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Those games you mentioned are just simple beat-em-ups, not complex fighting games, they're not the same thing, MVC will keep having 3D models just like Street Fighter and you need to accept that. Also, gotta love how MVCI's problem was that it leaned too much towards the MCU but then when talking about a new roster you only single out the damn X-Men when the Avengers get mashed with "familiar faces." Because that's fair.

Idk, characters having moves in common would both help with development, and also help make certain characters more accurate to the source material. Like, they’ve gotta have Ryu in there, but if every character is 100% unique, then they wouldn’t have any other shotos. Or Miles Morales is pretty popular, but Peter Parker’s also still really popular, and if they wanted both in, it’d make sense for them to have mostly similar movesets with some differences to account for Miles’ extra powers.
