He needed every second to prevent Eredin from dragging Ciri into the portal. Once again, he hurt Eredin and if ir wasn't for Imlerith going nearby Ciri, he had to use aars to puwh her away so Imlerith doesnt grab her/ or toss Vesemir away so Eredin can take Ciri again. I believe that Vesemir could have killed both of them in 2v1, or at least one of them, but his top priority was and always have been Cirilla.

For those asking about Letho, his appearance is dependent on several choices. In The Witcher 2, you'll have to spare his life. In The Witcher 3, you'll meet him in Velen while doing a contract. Basically you'll have to foil his plan and then suggest he take refuge at Kaer Morhen.

Folan also comes to Kaer Morhen when you save him with Vigi and Hjalmar, but there is no update for Folan if he survives the battle, but he also doesn't take part at the funeral of Vesimir. Which bothers me. I liked him and it was obvious he was in love with Cerys, so I wanted him to live. But there is no way to find out about his fate.

Was looking for this comment. I just got to this part last night (I know late to the party). But the scene really captures the combat skills and intelligence of Gerald and Lambert. But also slightly shows that they wouldn't be able to keep it up much longer without Triss' help. CDPR did such a great job conveying the tide of the battle of both sides equally and showing their strengths.

I allways keep Keira Metz alive so I don`t have to worry about Lambert plus they are a great couple allso in my play I made Ciri a witcher Cerys ruled Skellige

Vesemir's death is crushing, and what makes it worse is Ciri knows no one understands how she feels...how to lose someone she loved...who died to protect her...Uncle Vesemir in that moment was completely selfless, he knew he would probably die, but chose to push Ciri away to save her at the cost of his life...RIP old man...Rest in peace..

I had Letho in this fight. Geralt, Lambert & Letho go out to the woods. Had ran into him in a side quest and asked him to take refuge at Kaer Morhen.

14:48 when i see how little Triss needs to close that portal i awlays remember Wandering in the Dark quest and how long it took to Keira to close them. Idk it's always bugged me but probably it has logical explanation.

I don’t know if you know about this, but before and I think after Hindersfall, where the Hunt attacks, if you go exploring along the outskirts, you’ll run into those elemental hounds from the Hunt, they’re just chilling over there and it’s allot. They never leave and they’re there before and after you do that part of the story.
