no and here is why: - ciri dont have or dont use her powers - gerald and yen would never allow her to become a real witcher - females cant survive the trial of grass (its explcitly said they try but it is impossible) - never has an adult undergo the trial of grass and survived - ciri cant use witcher signs because she is a conduit of raw magic - nobody know anymore how to make a new witcher

Her connection to Witcher culture comes through Geralt and her upbringing. “Geralt and Yen would never let her become a Witcher.” Not sure where you get this idea at all. It is objectively incorrect. One of the key themes of W3 is respecting Ciri’s agency. Not only that, but one of the endings is literally Geralt buying her a sword and addressing her as a Witcher. I would admit to also being curious about her relationship to the trials as an adult woman, but Ciri is a powerful and flexible enough character that there are some good storytelling options here. CDPR has done an elite job with the IP so far - I think they’ve earned a little trust that they’re going to get it right.

The sheer implications in this trailer alone has me so hyped! That and at the end when you hear (i think) Geralt's voice) saying he'll be part of the journey, absolute chills! Ciri taking the trial of the grass and becoming a Witcher though will be cool to see, at least i hope it's done well cause i think in the lore it was outright said or heavily implied females couldn't be Witchers? Unless i'm wrong, that and her elder blood powers, i hope we can use them and the trial doesn't outright remove the powers The game is still probably another 4 or 5 years out but damn am i hyped!

Geralt's voice (aka Doug Cockle) is only present at the end of the trailer shown at the Games Awards stream / VOD, and is NOT in the official trailers posted in different languages by CDPR. To me, that tells me they wanted the crowd at the GA to pop by hearing Doug Cockle's voice, as a nice nod / easter egg, but also not wanting to lead the vast majority of people (who would discover the official trailer on KZbin and not during the GA) to think Geralt was playing a somewhat important role in the game.

That "only monsters" line was a nod to the Witcher 3 trailer were the group of soldiers are beating and hanging a woman for "being a witch". Geralt kills all but one of them, and as he approaches the last one he asks "What are you doing", and Geralt says "Killing monsters".

Now if you're talking about whether this is in-game or not, it isn't. It says at the start that it's "pre-rendered in Unreal Engine 5". That means that while technically it's rendered in-engine, it's not real time so it's not at all indicative of what the actual gameplay looks like.

I don't know how they will implement her being able to use the potions and stuff, since she hasn't undergone witcher mutations. And I doubt Geralt would allow it since Vesemir was also against using the formulae ever again on any person. I am not sure she would go against his wishes. Idk, maybe her elder blood will allow her to consume potions and the magic we see could be from the training with Yennefer instead of being normal witcher signs.

What i could gather from playing the games and read the books. What they want for the game is: Ciri go throught the trial of grasses as the first woman to to that, but she lost most of her abbility from the elder blood. It's her choice to become a witcher. (now canon ending for witcher 3?) And also to end the prophecy why she were hunted. To finnish it, im happy that they decided to go with Ciri, its so much to explore there. And after seeing the trailer for the scond time, listen to what the "monster/god" say before Ciri cut her head. If i know CPR story telling. Its something deeper here for this side quest, just like in witcher 3.

OMFG... I didn't know that The Witcher 4, was soooooo Deep into Development, that they could produce a Trailer as Enthrawling as this!! After NetFlix Butchered the Golden Platter of the Witcher Series' that had been given to them... I was Deeply concerned where the direction of the Witcher would go, in the gaming universe... in the Witcher Universe... I wasn't aware of any of this, prior to seeing your post Eralia! But at least it's been confirmed officially (and not by a potential slip-up from Doug Cockle this time).

This looks awesome but keep in mind that this is a "cinematic trailer" and it says it's rendered in Unreal Engine 5. So while I'm sure the game will look really good, it's probably not gonna be quite this realistic. I'll be happy to be wrong but I'm just tempering our expectations. That also means that there's nothing here to interpolate into the way the game plays but it would be incredibly foolish of them to deviate from what they've done before in the Witcher series.

I do hope they explain in a coherent way how Ciri now has Witcher abilities and metabolism, she never underwent the Trial of The Grasses as a child in the canon lore. This will be my personality for the foreseeable future Also someone pointed out to me that there was a bit of a leather tie in Ciri's braid, and she thought it was either a callback or the actual leather band that Geralt uses to tie his own hair back or wear around his head in the books. So my headcanon is that Geralt kept that leather band in a drawer for years and decided to bring it back out. He searches every nook and cranny, not knowing that Ciri had taken it for her braid lol

Remember, technically, this is a "fake" trailer. They just started full production 2 weeks ago. This is pre-rendered (says so on the bottom even). I have no doubts that the game will look well.. good. In a UE5 sort of way. As every UE5 game... I'm worried though... I wish they stuck to their own engine... Ok I get the hype and I hope it ends up being a great story, but and huge but this is not a Witcher story. Why, well for the same reason we can't have a guy, man,male suddenly appear in the Star Wars Jedi series be a Night Sister. Well why pretty simple, guys, men can't be a Night Sister. Literally ruins the whole society idea of why Night Sisters exist. Same thing here. You can't be a female and drink Witcher potions, don't shoot the messenger it's been this way since day one. And why do we need Ciri to drink potions anyway. She is super OP just the way she is written in the books and shown in the games. Picking up the mantle where Geralt leaves off and becomes a Witcher or one who hunts monster just the way she is, is badass enough and could be a great story. Let's not destroy lore and history just to make something Ciri could never and by the way probably would never want to be. Her own powers fully developed would crush Witchers left and right.
