It was something they went to in regards to his death. They probably didn't know just cause filing for child support isn't usually something you'd discuss with your other children. Not that I think she would deny it if they asked her. Just that it's not something a parent would think to bring up to their children. Especially adult children who wouldnt be included in the child support. Plus it went public really fast. It could just be that she didn't think to tell him prior to filing.

In the state I live in, you are not allowed as a custodial parent to refuse child support. It's for the child, and my state views refusing it as a form of neglect. So I don't know why everyone is talking about Christine suing him as if it were some egregious thing she's doing to Kody. He owes support to his child regardless of whether or not Christine takes steps to obtain it.
