But it's not his real daughter. That's a movie. His real daughter was abandoned by Jackie Chan. Her story is tragic and she wants nothing to do with him. But recently people saw a youtube short that was edited that made her look like she's homeless because Jackie Chan kicked her out of his home and she is getting unnecessary attention she never wanted in the first place. His daughter deserved better.

I lost my Father to Lung Cancer just over 3 years ago. He was my entire WORLD. To be called a “Daddy’s Girl” was always a compliment to me because, to me, it meant he wanted me to be his “Little Girl”, always. I called him Daddy from when I first spoke, right to the second he died in my arms. I saw him cry three times in my life. The first time was when he came to get me from School, I was in grade 5, and he had to tell my my little brother was in the hospital and he was sick so we were going to see him and tell him he was going to be ok. He made me feel as if I had the power to tell him that he really was going to be ok. I was terrified because hospitals were scary to me then. I told him I was afraid and he reached over and took my hand and gently squeezed it and said “So am I honey. So am I. That is why we will do this together. We have each other and now we are going together to tell your brother he will be better and that he has to come home soon. Ok?”…..I looked over at him while he was driving. One hand on the steering wheel and the other holding my hand. I saw a tear roll down his face and with my free hand, I wiped it. The second time was when I graduated from University and received my Degree in Nursing. After we threw our caps in the air, I turned and ran to him and he picked me up and said “I am so proud of you. Here, I caught this. I think it is yours?” And he handed me my cap and when he did, there was a tear rolling down his cheek. I wiped it. He hugged me again as he tried to put my cap on my head. I said “it’s ok, it’s just a cap and thank you for catching it. You always catch me Daddy.”. And he kissed the top of my head. The third and final time I saw him cry was the day before he left me. Forever. I was laying beside him on the bed trying so very hard not to cry. He was staring out the window. He had trouble talking then. I said to him “Daddy, I love you and I am so proud of you and I hope you know that. You have always been there for me. You have always caught me. It is my turn now Daddy. I have you. I will never let you go.”. There was a tear rolling down my cheek and he reached over and wiped it and he nodded and as he nodded a tear rolled down his cheek and I reached over and wiped it and then I kissed his forehead. He laid there all night, as did I and as the Sun was coming up, I hugged him gently and told him that it was “ok to go. I will always love you and I know you will always be my Daddy & you will always be my Angel. Always.”. He smiled with his big blue eyes that I have as well, and he nodded and closed his eyes and took his last breath just as I was leaning in to kiss him on the forehead again and tell him I loved him and how very proud I am of him and always have been and always will be. He was gone and I wiped his last tear. I believe that Mr. Chan isn’t crying because of his “iconic movie moments”…..no. Mr. Chan is crying because of how much his Daughter loves him and how proud she is of him and all he did to be who he is and how successful he is so that he could give her the life he never had. That bond between a Father and a Daughter is a very special bond that is nothing like a son and a father. It is different. Protective and nurturing but ever so different than a Mother and Daughter. At least that is what I feel. She knows why he is crying just as he knows why she slipped her arm into his. It is just different. There are no words. There doesn’t need to be any. It is just special. The respect. The hard work it took to get where he is. The blood he lost and bones he broke to be who he is, iconic to the world but he is “Daddy” to his Daughter. There isn’t any other title more important to a Father like Mr. Chan or my Daddy. It shows in this clip right here. No words could ever be written that would do justice to the looks on their faces. There is more communication between them than any words in any language could ever do. I saw a piece of him in his eyes that looked similar to what I saw in my Daddy’s eyes as time was coming to an end for him and that was the same look that I saw in Mr. Chans as he looked at his daughter. Time is short. It goes far too fast when you want it to move slower and far too slow when you desperately wish it was going faster. That was the look I saw in my Daddy’s eyes and just now in Mr. Chans. Time is a gift. It is finite and one that we think we have an infinite amount of when we are young but as we become older and see that time really does feel like it “flies by” so very quickly, we learn to prioritize those we love and we learn that we must always make time for them because their time will be gone before ours will, G-d willing as it goes against nature for a parent to even have to bury a child. That is one of the most tragic parts of my profession. One I do not have the power to change unfortunately. If I had ONE wish, just ONE…….I would wish that Heaven had Visiting Hours.

@@blacksheepshepherd That is the truth….more pure and honest words were never said…….you may notice I did not speak of my Mother much…..so my empathy for you if far deeper that what I wrote above. I was envious of a friends Mother the entire time we were growing up only to find out what a wretched human being she was so that is something I strive not to be of anyone as we never know what truly goes on behind closed doors. The woman gave an appearance of being a “June Cleaver” but “Cleaver” was closer to who she was. Nuff said there. I decided to “break the chain” as they say, by choosing NOT to have any offspring as my fear was to turn out like her. My Brother had two boys and he is a fantastic Father so that says a lot about Nature vs Nurture. I am on my 4th Husband now and hit the jackpot as the case may be. He is very much like Daddy was other than Daddy was a …..erhem….avid Motorcycle Rider in a “club” until I was 3 (back when u COULD leave w/o paying with a body part or your life) and my Hubby is ….well……on the polar opposite of that and wears a ….erhem….”Tactical Uniform” along with a Leash and a 110 lb Furry Beast at the end of it. Yet, they were made of the same soul and got along like two peas in a pod. Yes, blessed….in that part of my life but I had to kiss 3 very horrific toads to get there. I worked hard to be where I am now and you could not have said it better in “we only live once…”. I’ve come too close to death too many times to take life for granted but that came with my vocation choice and no one ever died saying “I wish I would have lived less and laughed less and done less.”. It breaks my heart (as small and black as it is….😉) that you had a shit for a father but as my Daddy said “The secret to success is knowing what NOT to do.” So if YOU chose to have some wee “flesh bags” or “Yard apes” as those of us that do not have them, call them……(tongue in cheek of course.) at the very least you KNOW what NOT to do to them so they turn out to be amazing. We all have one hell of a story in us and it sounds like there IS one in YOU……have you thought about putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard? I would hazard one hell of a guess that what you have to share would hit MANY MANY hearts and minds as well as help that many MORE. Why not? You have literally NOTHING to lose but a few reams of paper…..you never know. Agreed that not all parents are what we hope for nor do they change their spots. Yes, it is what it is but she is not a part of my life anymore which is by her actions and not from my lack of trying. I just do NOT believe it serves ANYONE well, myself included, to “change” in order to gain “favor” from this person. No. I learned a long time ago that when someone shows you who they are….believe them. I believe her. Loud and clear. As for you and whatever comes next, I do hope you have either found YOUR joy and are living it now, or…you are damn close to it and will be living it SOON. You DESERVE it. Clearly. Just keep telling yourself that and it will be. THAT is another one that took me too MANY years to learn. IF only I knew THEN what I know NOW……ahhh….if we all had a nickel for every time we heard or thought that one!!!! Be well my friend. Remember that you are the only one who is in charge of your destiny. Make it what you need it to be. To choose anything else would be less than what you truly deserve to be happy. Truly happy. On your terms and no one else’s. Stay in touch. ♥️
