informative ??? really ?? this is the Shell-BP- fossil fuel disaster all over again. here is some info they wont give you: they pump water into the ground to extract the lithium. on average, 1 gram of lithium in 1 liter of water. One electric car battery needs 15 kilo of lithium. So one EV battery uses 15 million liters of water, and that is just for the lithium. Big mining companies bribe, bully and bulldozer their way in, and our planet and local populations get fucked in the ass. fully charged should do a show on this topic. Start with Portugal where this disaster is about to take place. (5th largest lithium reserve on the planet)

Oh dear! Tomorrow's World was never this good. It had too many people making the programme and the goodies were more PR pieces than investigative journalism. Can you think of one thing on Tomorrow's World that you can remember now? Blue Peter was far more memorable, even EastEnders but not Tomorrow's World. I think FC is done with true passion, the presenters are not mere hired hands.

@@martinwray7001 Nobody watches TV any more. It is on in the background but people don't engage with it like they used to. There was a time when everyone shared a conversation about what they saw on 'Life on Earth' the night before or even developments in 'Dallas'. I don't think we will be going back to the days of four channels, with three of them having something good to offer. The gig is up and I prefer being able to indulge in things like FC online with a decent comments thread. The TV was oft shouted at but it never heard you and 'Points of View' was somewhat filtered. TV budgets were big - there is no 'Life on Earth' grade show on KZbin so yes it is a travesty in a way.

Very interesting. Would love to see a dedicated episode to how battery recycling works.
@earlpottinger671
@earlpottinger671 5 жыл бұрын
Why now? The demand for the batteries for secondary uses means there will be no stock available to run a recycling center for the next ten to twenty years. If you don't include the LEAF, car batteries last fifteen to twenty years before they show enough loss to make it even looking like them may be recycled. And at that point, there are plenty of buyers to create stationary storage systems.

I.E,. "so even Paul can get (most of) it" Just wondering aloud why there isn't an 18650 or 21700-sized cell that is square-shaped, sort of like the prismatic cell.
@andrewzamorski4950
@andrewzamorski4950 5 жыл бұрын
I think the reason is that one of the main advantages of prismatics is that they can be built with a lot of surface area giving a potential cooling advantage. If they are in a cube or a deep rectangle you would need to cool on more than one side making the pack more complicated to build and therefore more expensive. Also a cuboid is structurally less strong than a cylinder so either more packaging of the cell or pack would be needed when compared to using a cylinder to maintain structural integrity and safety. @@OwenzDaddy
