I didn't change, the group I was in went really far to the Left. So, I started voting for Conservatives because they sound more "normal" and down to earth these days. I think it's important to vote for what you believe in, and learn to ditch your group if they move the goal posts and no longer represent your values. Don't pick a side, pick an issue, and vote your conscience instead of dogmatic support for a single party.

Clasicalliberal and similar experiences here. My main problem with center and right is how unbelievably self-justifyingly spinless and cowardly they are when it comes to standing up for their own right to exist in their own country and culture.

Honestly I prefer this world where we talk about specific issues and make decisions outside of tribal loyalties. It annoyed the crap out of me when Ed Miliband suggested the energy price cap and was labelled a communist. Theresa May introduces the same thing and doesn't get harassed over it but also didn't get much praise from the left for it either. I've always been a big fan of anti-tribalism for the past 10-15 years. I have friends who are Tory, Liberal, Remainer, Brexiteer and Leftist. I disagree with a lot of them on a lot of different topics but that's okay. The only group I cannot talk politics with are the hyper-leftist. My left of centre friends are all chill but the far left are impossible to converse with.

Clasical liberal here and 100% agree with that. I can have a sane and civil conversation about anything with anyone outside the far left end. For being the supposed 'all-inclusive everyone-is-welcome' club, they sure openly hate everyone and everything else for the most made up beyond stupid reasons!

I absolutely can't stand Donald Trump. I find him to be a terrible person - vain, embarrassing in the way he expresses himself, selfish. I do realize why he is so popular and what he is a reaction and protest against. And I agree that a reaction is very much needed.

Liberalism must have a left and right wing in order to function. The degree to which the state intervenes in private economic activity and private society is the definition of what is right wing (minimal intervention) and what is left wing (maximum intervention). If a political movement doesn't recognise that debate, free expression of conflicting ideas and the electoral process are essential then it is NOT liberal and cannot be left or right wing. Such political movements are anti-liberal, totalitarian and authoritarian. Wokeism, National Socialism, Fascism, Lenin-Marxism, are all totalitarian and are not liberal. They cannot be left or right wing.

Destiny does not value truth. He values winning arguments regardless of where the truth actual lies. He is not interested in finding truth. He is interested in defending what he has already decided is true.

Destiny identifies as progressive, but I wouldn’t exactly consider him the epitome of woke. I’ve seen him speak against concepts like “white privilege” and was denounced as a “transphobe”, and claims that’s why he was kicked off Twitch. He also supported Kyle Rittenhouse and people lost their minds.

It seems like we're leaning closer and closer to binary thinking--ironic for the Uber Left who don't believe in gender binary, but I digress--which is a natural tendency we should all be wary of, IMO. The world is in flux and we're having to deal with more information daily than we would have had in a month not so long ago. For those who haven't developed mental and emotional discipline, the whirlwind must be overwhelming and finding a place to shelter in, to feel like you belong and have the right views and certainty must be comforting. It's also very dangerous. I'm pretty "shelf stable" and I still feel the effects of all the tumult. I wish I knew how reach some of these people in my life, friends and family who are simultaneously so scared and pitiable, and yet so unreasonable and aggressive. I feel better watching others try to make sense of it all. Thank you for your channel.
