I think one thing people tend to overlook is the role of the general manager, who can often undermine a coach. As a Cowboys fan, I also recognize that the owner, who serves as the general manager, plays a significant role in team decisions. I do believe that Black coaches often get the short end of the stick, especially when you look at the types of jobs they are offered. For example, heading into the season, nobody wanted to touch the Houston Texans job. They had just lost Deshaun Watson, traded away DeAndre Hopkins, and were in a total rebuild. These are the types of jobs that Black coaches often seem to inherit-the ones that other coaches don’t want. Take the Raiders’ coach as another example. He didn’t have consistent quarterback play, and in this past draft, the general manager didn’t appear to be very aggressive in addressing that need. That said, there are some Black coaches who probably should be fired as well.

It seems that way because we only really pay attention to injustice when we relate to people involved in the issue. You see it because you relate to the person involved on a basic level. It's the same as when you relate to these political issues... The issues you relate to the most and the issues you see affecting you or people you care for, become more important to you. This is actually the reason the left is so emotional. They relate on emotional levels that make these issues personal. And when you make it personal, you don't see as clearly.
