I played them with 5 SB+SS and 5 TH+SS, so 5 to take damage and shoot and 5 to get into melee. They were supported by a Wolf Priest with 2+ Charge and the Wulven Stone and Arjac Rockfist. They beat Mephiston and 9 Sangiunary Guard with 4 thunderhammer termis left. I love this unit :)

I run mine as a unit of 8. Pack leader with TH and SS, 2 with SB and SS and 5 with combiplasmas and SS. I come down turn two and pop fury of the champions for +1 to hit, which turns my hitrolls of 1 to be non-lethal when overcharging. Wolford on bike and arjak around for rerolls gives u 10 plasma shots at S8 -4AP 2dmg with rerolls. Every time I drop I delete a high value target with this. In addition I buy time for the rest of the army to close the gap, because my opponent has to deal with that super tanky unit in there lines. Even more so when I can charge smth with it. Was hilarious when my friend got tired of being murdered by another players knights list drop 3 kitted squads of half thunder hammer half combimelta all storm shielded drop in and table the guy in one round. Just immensely satisfying.

One of my favorite things to do currently is drop a group of 9 wolf guard in a drop pod with a wolf lord. Have a bunch of them duel wielding plasma pistols, the rest with plasma pistols and shields. Drop them near some primaris or a elite unit. Fire a bunch of overcharged shots that re-roll ones due to the lord, Profit.

I just recently rescued a poorly painted batch of cqb terminators from my flgs along with a character in termi armor which had some bits missing. With some clever greenstuff use he has become a termi rune priest and I drop him in to support the TH+SS and wolf claw wielding termis. The bunch is heavily skewed towards wolf claws but one of the ones with thunderhammer is modeled without a helmet so I tend to run him as sgt. With the rune priest to support them and 20 very tough wounds guarding the rune priest it makes a very scarey melee castle of sorts. That can demolish anything that gets close

Of course, Wolf Guard can be pack leaders in addition to unit leaders which can also be useful, and you can put them in terminator armour in a normal armoured squad.

I love that about them. Those Codex nerds are missing out. It's so great to have some enemy unit slog through some SW infantry and then SURPRISE! Terminator in your face!😄

Bolter Discipline definitely saves Wolf Guard Termites from just sitting idly on the shelf. I think that Outflanking a unit of Wulfen for the sake of getting the charge Re-rolls buff to these dudes is worthwhile.

I'd rate these as the best loyalist terminators (although Deathwatch SIA is a tempter). My favourite option is cheaping out powerfists/thunderhammers for poweraxes to improve points efficiency. I also like combi-weapons (although other units probably do this better) and the option of a cyclone in an assaulty unit.

i have always loved wolfguard termys and Arjac is my favorite, i standard use 5 with th+ss deep strike with a jump wolflord and Arjac and now with wolf priest having the +2charge. with fury of the champions hitting on 2s with thunder hammers.....just Arjac buff thats 21 th. if they connect most thing just deleted. i usually with wolfen stone. 26 th on 2s rr1s, wounding on 2s-4s rr1s. I am now experimenting with jump wolfguard with double chain swords, 5 man thats 5a each 6 for the leader before getting buffed up to max 8a 9a each with vicious executioner strat for mortal wounds on wounds of 6, so 26-41 attacks hitting on 2s fishing for 6 to wound, and im not even thinking of savage fury. if supported could be super dangerous. but fragile, play like death company but buff more easily

5 termies with ssth with the +1 damage litany, hunters unleashed, and fury of the champions. Even if half your attacks miss you still delete a knight

Your better with wulfen. Have saga of the Wolfkin nearby and a chaplain nearby for rerolling to hit on 20 attacks from the wulfen getting extra hits on 6s with strength 10 thunderhammers. Costs no CP,s.

Is there any FAQ that says wolf guard pack leaders have the wolf guard keyword? Or is it fine to just have that phrase in their name? To be honest, I'm fine with the extra attack they get from being a Blood Claw, but if they had the Wolf Guard keyword, they would get a touch more synergy.

No, there is no FAQ granting a WGPL from a BC/GH/LF unit the Wolf Guard keyword. I wish there were...

would it be viable to use keen senses ( not negative modifier to hit when shooting ) and Fury of the champion ( +1 to hit ) when fiering combi plasma with their bolter part. Making both part of the weapon hit on 2s and not able to overheat? Maybe it's not the best loadout since usualy targets for overcharged plasma are not the same as for bolt shots but who knows, just having plasma hiting on 2s with no risk at all seems interesting

Flo B there are no rules or restrictions for two handed weapons in this edition of the game.

I would LIKE GW to give us the OLD option of getting WG Termies in groups of THREE, not five. Just make flexibility and more importantly.... UNIQUE for the SW.... SW don't don't really follow the Codex Astartes.
