I'm using the normal fire stick. I have switch on USB debugging. An it seams that fire TV settings helper dose not recognise it. As its still trying to connect with it. My 4k fire stick works well.

@@pat9532 The older firesticks can not use the helper directly on the device itself. You need to install the toolbox on to another device. As you have a 4K firestick, you can install the toolbox (3rd item from here www.techdoctoruk.com/tutorials/use-android-tv-launcher-on-all-amazon-devices-old-new/) on that device. Then start it and it will ask you for the IP address of your older firestick. Enter that and you will see a prompt on the old firestick asking your accept the ADB connection. I demonstrated the entire process here (I did it from a Android phone but you can do the process from any Android device) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3OQi3SHh5VsfLs

I'm really glad I found you on KZbin. You and I set up our Firesticks almost identically. When setting up Firesticks for others I like to create a "tools" password protected folder so that people don't accidentally mess stuff up but if they call me for help I can get them into those apps if need be without having them hidden. Great video! I hope many others are able to learn how to set up their Firesticks in the best way IMHO. Cheers from Tennessee!

Running on 2 generation FIre TV. Followed your tutorial step by step. When I use the Fire TV tool box my problem is in the Fire TV launcher settings. You can see all of your wallpaper if you go to launcher settings and to manage sections then widgets then down to heights set it all the way over to 800. Then go to manage sections and place the application bar to the bottom. Then just scroll down to the section you have set up

Liked and subscribed. I've been tweaking Firesticks for a long time and love ATV launcher (which it appears wolf is a modded version of ATV) but with the new 4k stick launcher hijack requires an ADB connection from a laptop which isn't hard but just inconvenient. Thanks for this tutorial. I think I'll be using this launcher/method from now on.

It also works with the amazon android but not really good since u have to click trought 4 menus to start kodi. Im hoping to get easier access to kodi with wolf os. Awesome tweaks to the ATV launcher which I used extensively in the past. Fast question... do you know how to get the Wolf Launcher App to show in the IPVanish “Open Application After Connection” list? I have rebooted and reinstalled the IPVavish app... neither worked. Not sure if there is a way to refresh the list? Probably a question for the IPVanish folks :) But thanks for any insight you might have.

What does that option actually do? So you connect to a VPN server and then you can make it start an application? If so, why would you want the Wolf launcher to start there?... as you can just press the home key to achieve the same effect.

@@TechDoctorUK The IP Vanish app has an auto start feature that will start the VPN automatically on boot. Within that app it has settings...one of which will start any installed APP on your device after the VPN connects. It is very nice because upon boot it goes to the VPN...then opens up the home screen, in this case Wolf Launcher, automatically. If it is not turned on it just sits on the VPN page. Not a big deal in the slightest. I just thought you might have some experience with it since the ad plays everytime I watch one of your vids. :) Thanks again. Can't wait to see what is next.

I've been using the firetv setting and firetv helper app for a while now. Within the past 4 days , I don't know if Amazon rolled out a new update, but the settings are not being allowed to change. I've got it up and running on my fire cube gen2 but the only problem I have is the home button. When I press the home button on my remote it loads the default Amazon home screen so I have to load wolf launcher again manually. The hardware button detection is enabled in the firetv settings app so not sure what the issue is
