I sometimes listen to werewolf story narration while going on walks, and one story was set in the 1800s or thereabout, and the werewolf was diseased, had pale, lifeless eyes, patchy fur, etc. It sounded like it would make for a great alternative werewolf design.

I like Leigh Whannell as a writer and director quite a bit, but I honestly think he went too sickly humanoid. I think I would have had Blake’s character keep his hair and grow out more around his body. I also would have made his fangs a lot bigger as to truly make him look more menacing. I do like the eyes though, and the lack of snout is okay. But those changes are what I would have preferred just to heighten the appearance and make him memorable enough

American Werewolf was grounded in reality but the werewolf bit was all the more believable because the film didn't shy away from the fantasy element. A game from 2020 did this way better with the look. It’s also crazy that the story beats of a dad trying to protect his daughter before he succumbs to his disease… also ripped right out of RE8 as well. Sadly, there was something lost in translation because RE8 was good and this was pretty bad…
@politefan814110 күн бұрын
It would be more fair to compare this version to *minor spoilers* Blake's father since he had the more traditional look. Blake was supposed to look more humanoid because he wasn't completely transformed, and the more diseased look functioned as a visual metaphor for his lingering humanity. Whannel chose a design that was more thematic and appropriate for this kind of story. And the film isn't about how normal parenting is bad, it's about how keeping secrets from your family pushes them away and creates emotional distance.

Dude, I could have come up with a better design! It ain't that difficult! To "Fuse" the features of a wolf and man has been done 100k's of times with "Fan Art"! But, this is the issue with modern film, period! The inability or refusal to give true Fans what they desire, but catering to specific groups is Hollywood's downfall!

They have no way to understand the werewolf or Wolfman I can help them to better. It's the look of the wolf.

I didn’t really hate this movie but I didnt like it. Barely any gore. The 2010 remake was much better and full of great gore!

You should watch the British wolfman film howl they had human looking wolfman and it was much better than this

yea this still looks bad for a wolf man tbh he still looks more like a Rat then any type of wolf like I just don't think the patchy hair sections look good at all unless he would still be mid transformation.

Criticism of the make up and screen time of the wolfman are over stated, it was a fine movie with too much exposition and poor child actors

I thought this movie was going to be good.

So funny how everyone shat on the 2010 wolfman. Say what you will about it but at least it was spooky and had atmosphere and good performances. Stop it already with the constant bitching about cgi.. waaaaah cgi bad waaaaa. There’s movies out there that use practical and it’s a shit movie so stop it already with the dopey ass idea that cgi whether it’s good or bad is the catalyst to a good film Y’all can keep this Blumhouse jumpscare garbage.
