Wolf wins no matter if the chimp can run away and hide. It has to come down sometime and the wolf has a better sense of both hearing and smell than the chimp and would know if an attack was coming from the trees. Chimps are strong and formidable but compared to a bison, moose or elk the wolf hunts on a regular basis it doesn't compare. The only animal a wolf backs down to is a Grizzly or Polar bear and they still fight even after a bear has stolen their kill.

If you're very athletic, there's a chance you could outrun the chimp by grabbing sticks, stones, throwing it at the chimp and creating some distance. Chimps don't have a lot of stamina for running. You will never outrun a wolf. In a bare fisted fight, you're doomed either way.

Wolves are much bigger and stronger than Huskies. Timber wolves are actually the largest and strongest canine on Earth. Not to mention as a canine their reaction and movement speed are much faster than a primate's. @@Leon.2701 Pardon but a wolf is a moving target, watch one attack a moose... they dart in and bite the moose in the legs and head shake then release and step back. This is done in about a second and he`s clear of the moose to avoid a kick and moves to a different angle and repeats. This kind of attack not only is crippling it causes a tremendous loss of blood which weakens their toughest opponents. The chimp has to get past the teeth and reflects of a wolf to grab him and the wolf will not stick around for that to happen. I tried to stop 2 of my dogs at different times from growling at another dog by grabbing their mouths to hold them closed and they both grabbed my hand 3-4 times as a warning before I could react. One was a cocker spaniel that I held in my arms, and he got my hand 3 times and my ear once... just a warning to mind my business but that`s a cocker spaniel and not a train hunter as a wolf, a chimp`s reflexes aren`t all that fast either. In addition, these are usually smaller than human genitals. , It is worth mentioning that the wolf's bite is strong enough to break moose leg bones. The wolf has a lot of hair that covers it from bites, the teeth of the chimpanzee are not usually as sharp as the teeth of a 100% carnivore.

There is one place they both could meet, North Louisiana. Chimp Haven is the biggest chimpanzee 🐵 sanctuary in the United States, with over 200 chimpanzees. It's located in the north west corner of Louisiana. Also, Louisiana use to have the Red Wolf 🐺 as the dominant forest predator. A large gray wolf is a completely different manner however. While a chimp‘s bite force is equal to a wolf‘s, the wolf‘s teeth and jaw are far better suited to rip apart flesh and break bones compared to the chimp. If the chimp manages to get the wolf into a chokehold it has indeed a chance of killing the wolf through many repeated bites and arm strikes. I don’t think however that it could hold the rampaging wolf long enough to land the final blow. It could very likely injure the wolf enough for it to decide that this prey is not worth it, unless it is an extremely hungry wolf. If the wolf however were to pounce on the chimp, it would likely go for the throat just like with a human. While the chimp would also be able to eventually throw the wolf off it, the chance that the wolf bites through it‘s soft throat is quite high, especially if the chimp is caught off guard. The chimp is better at fighting other chimps and other apes as well as mostly eating fruits, but wolves as predators are far more used to fighting different animals and killing them, including animals bigger and heavier than them who with a horn or hoof could easily disembowel or trample a single wolf to death.

This video ignored the single biggest determinant. Wolves have loose skin while chimps have tight skin. If the chimp got 5 good bites and the wolf only got one good bite, the chimp would still be in worse shape. It is the reason leopards can be 1/3rd the size of a gorilla and still kill it. I definitely think wolf has the advantage. With thing such as the loose skin over a chimps tight skin. Higher bite force, speed and accuracy. And a point I really don’t think people take into account is that wolves are hunters so they would have a natural advantage in a fight just based off their instinctive hunting skills. Chimps are largely plant and insects eaters that occasionally participate in territorial fights/disputes. Because of this I think the wolf would just wear the chimp down until it can deal the killing blow.

chimp might have some impressive attributes, but lets be honest, it would lose for the same reason a gorilla loses to a grizzly. The wolf and grizzly spend their lives killing. And they're extremely good at it. The wolf is faster (and I mean in close quarter combat, not running) Have you ever tried to fight a dog close to your size? with no tools or weapons, you'll lose. a chimp's not going to fair much better. Wolf had an insanely strong AND QUICK bite. Whether you win or lose there is NO WAY you’re escaping the bite. They are also quick in the sense of dodging your attacks. You can try catching it with an untelegraphed kick but you gotta be mighty skilled. Otherwise you have to let it bite your elbow and once it has a hold of it, you can outgrapple it and try to crush its head or choke it with your elbow provided you can overcome the pain. A chimp you can not outgrapple unless you’re a heavy weight trained grappler. They may be crazy agile but their reaction time and ability to dodge is not like a wolf’s. You can actually catch it with kicks and punches and defeat it like that.

The wolf would have the edge. He has more endurance and he has more experience dealing with prey animals than a chimp does. Chimps mainly attack by grabbing and tearing at an opponents face and genitals. I think people have been watching a little too much King Kong. Chimps are smarter than wolves, but its not like a person that can analyze and plan in a fight, so the intellegrnce factor will not matter. The "chimps are as strong as 5 men" is also a myth, for their size that are slightly stronger, but the average chimp is small than the average man, and even then they are stronger in grip and pulling, but their body mechanics make them weaker striking or throwing than a human. Chimps have amazing backwards and lateral movement, so it’s possible for them to leap sideways, grab a limb, pull, and dislocate it. It’s also possible for a wolf to land the first bite and incapacitate the chimp immediately. So I say 50/50 based on what happens during the wolf’s first lunge.

I think the wolf would just run away. They usually aren’t going to go after an animal that they have never met. They might be curious and smell the chimp but if the chimp is hostel the wolf would just run off. Unless the wolf is in a pack they aren’t going to attack, unless cornered and provoked. I don’t know much about chimps but most monkeys aren’t going to take any chances and would run up in the trees. I think it would be a hard decision to make on who would win, especially if a chimp tore off that woman’s hands and her face. It would depend on the situation and circumstances. Most monkeys will runaway if they smell or hear a lion or tiger drawing near, that’s my take and a wolf wouldn’t be any different.

I believe the full grown male chimp would destroy a LONE wolf where ever they would meet. The wolf is a pack hunter which was mentioned early but what was not mentioned again in the fight stage. I don't think the chimp would try to out run the wolf in a open space it would understand that is not the move. Chimps are very aggressive while a LONE wolf would be cautions once it realizes what a mistake it has made and break off the fight if it could .
