Yeah, no kidding! I just found Wolf Alice in 2020 and listened to some old live concerts and was kind of "meh" about them. But then the more recent stuff, especially her performance on KEXP doing "Don't Delete The Kisses" just absolutely stunned me. So did "Last Man On Earth" on BBC. The entire band really just keeps impossibly improving.

Feels like she's been through some classical training for this album in lockdown, some seriously pure powerful tones.

We heard them at the Pilton party in Glastonbury which was the last gig they played before lockdown, we kept looking at each other all through the gig going “is it me or is Ellie’s vocal just amazing?!” Just soared out of the PA..

Reminds me so much of the band Til Tuesday from the 1980's. Ellie's vocal even has a real Aimee Mann feel to it. Love that they now have a separate keyboardist at least on a part-time basis. Really fills in the sound on these types of songs. Frees up Joff from having to key so many fills through the guitar.
@ekoeschannel1402 жыл бұрын
I agree. Til Tuesday had a gorgeous and really talented vocalist. I don't remember her name. They had been a bridge between new wave, pop rock and.. I think..they, had inspired a lot of Dream Pop bands. I prefer the heavy side of WA... Giant Peach You're a Germ, Your Love Whore are masterpieces. 👍
@TheBent1392 жыл бұрын
@@ekoeschannel140 Aimee Mann was the bass playing lead singer of Til Tuesday- she is still active but does very different music. What is cool about Wolf Alice is that they have more than one side. Dream Pop is a good description of some of the songs on Blue Weekend. No telling what they will do next.
