You lost because you didn't account for Crunch's Sp. Def. drop which guaranteed the KO. How unfortunate. For those confused, Crunch is a Dark type move and as such is considered a special move in Gen 3, hence the Sp. Def. drop. In modern games it drops Def. As someone who has recently begun diving into the world of rom hacks by various authors and across various generations, it can be very difficult keeping up with what rom hack changes what and what battle mechanics are in play, so I fully understand how you could have made such an error.

i think the reason because you lost was that Sp.def drop on kingler by crunch because the AI tends to repeat its own attacks should the next attack be a KO, and you said crunch wouldnt kill but crunch would have killed WITH the sp.def drop.
