I can relate. I was a volunteer at a no kill shelter and there were 3 border collie puppies, about 6 months old. OMG they had been left in a backyard and the owner just threw food out into the yard for them No human contact. If you walked into their kennel they would press into the corner and just shake to pieces. I did not foster them, because it was no kill and I knew they were safe, but not adoptable in this state. So I made it my goal to help them. I viisited everyday and went into the kennel and would hug each one for hours to make them more confident, it worked after 2 months. Herminone, Harley, and Herman, got adopted.

OMG! They’re so stinking cute. The black one looks like my baby. My husband rescued her a day before she was supposed to be put down. She saved me because I was dealing with depression at the time. She never left my side. It’s been 9 years and she’s still my girl. We got her a brother when she was 3 and he’s German Shepherd. They’ve been inseparable. She’s 9 and he’s 6 now. I love my babies.❤

People need to get out of the mindset that dogs need to be purebred dogs. Whats the reason 3 puppies are due to be euthanized, other than people wont adopt them because theyre not purebred. A dog is a dog. They love you, u love them. Thats it. My 3 year old shepsky is the most loyal and loving man. Just because hes a mixed breed doesnt mean he doesnt love his family.

I'm surprised that a shelter would euthanize puppies since at that age, they're perfectly adoptable. Usually, it's harder to find older dogs homes. I'm guessing the shelter was too overcrowded?
