After watching the entire interview, Eboni was very open and supportive in Iyanla’s message and her workshop. She gave her nothing but praise and showed her admiration. Now, I don’t think she’ll be open to dating a man uneducated or not gainfully employed but she loves Iyanla….just my opinion.

13:12 I am glad I listened to this, I have been divorced for some years, raised my kids, and single. I had to be honest with myself. I want a relationship, but I am afraid. I decided to get therapy at the beginning of the year, because I know I need it. Thanks for the honest message!

When you choose a man of integrity you free yourself…My hubby is a blue collar hard working loving man with integrity …these women need to get over themselves 😥 unfortunately they can’t see past their nose 😭

Fantastic commentary! Women oftentimes look for the superficial characteristics in a man instead of the attributes that really matter. I’m all for character and integrity! I pray more of us would invest in and prioritize therapy above buying the next new thing. This will help a lot of wonderful ladies who are still looking for real love and partnership. 😊

Eboni is definitely the problem. I don’t know if you remember this but a few years ago she said, I think on Wendy Williams, that she broke up with her fiancé because he chose to quarantine with his children instead of her and she needed to be # 1. I think that at 39 years old she needs to be realistic. I truly admire her because she is beautiful and she’s very accomplished, but she clearly has been fooled into thinking that there’s a man out there that will meet her thousands of standards & criteria.

This is such a great message. I wish more women would listen & take this message to heart. I learned this in my late 30's, after a divorce & second degree looking for everything in a spouse but what I really needed. Here I am happily married going on 17 years. You're dropping gems sis, thank you.

Thank you for sharing this clip and your honest thoughts on this matter. The Internet is blowing up with BW saying that Iyanla wants you to marry down and lower your standards. No man worth a grain of salt is going to put up with Eboni's mouth and attitude. There is a condemnation of BM in her voice and tone. Men can pick up on that miles away. It's sad to see so many BW act like Eboni did. Iyanla went right to the source of the matter and Eboni didn't see it. The truth is the truth. And I honor and thank you for sharing the truth with your Sisters. God bless!

No black man is going to put up with an accomplished black woman because he is a conquered black male. Her mistake was not seeking out races of men, who realize her wealth and his wealth means a house in the Hamptons and generational wealth.

I am a single 42 year old woman. I am finally stating that I want to be in a relationship. In my 20's and 30's my whole life was building a career only to find myself changing careers in my late 30's. Understanding the value of time and my self worth I can acknowledge that my problem is leaving the house 😂😂😂 I enjoy how I have made my home, I can cook really well, I have a movie room and coffee bar. So this week my goal is just to leave my home besides going to work or visiting family or friends homes. I will go to coffee shops, walk around the mall..etc.. To answer the question, I would date a person who is a bus driver if he loves what he does for a living. To tell you the truth, I would love coming home to someone without the demands and stress that I have to deal with in the hospital. Thank you once again!

Proud of you! That's a great starting point! It's the small steps we take that get us to our goal, as you already know. I caution you, because I've talked with many over the years, have some way of holding yourself accountable to getting out the house each week. If not, once the excitement of changing wears off, I've seen ppl slip back into their old habits and then 6 months will pass & they would've stopped because they had no one or no way to hold themselves accountable to the action they initially were so excited about about.

@@mvmochannel Thank you for the tip, I will plan out how many days I plan on getting out each week and give that goal to my “goal oriented people” , that will ask how I plan on achieving this goal without falling into perfectionism or legalism 😩 Give myself grace that each week won’t be perfect but planning on achieving success steps at a time.

I am amongst people who believe... money shouldnt be a reason why we choose pur partner, but the DRIVER who loves to drive buses will 80% of the time become bitter with the female CEO even if he says he loves you... and the CEO will probably be too. I am curious to know if Vanzant had had a long time relationship with someone who earns less than her... sometimes age doesn't mean wisdom.
@SamuelBarrPhotography

Interesting question. The challenge is that in today's society, the average salary for a black man in America is approximately $47,568 dollars. So, there aren't many black men earning six-figures or more out there. If a female CEO is looking for a man who earns more than she does, she's going to be alone for a long time. Only 18% of people (men and women) in America earn over six-figures. And only 31% of black households earn over $75,000 a year (that's both salaries). So "yes", those expectations are unrealistic.

And to counter that old tripe that says "Black men need to come up!" According to the Institute for Family Studies, Black men have made marked progress over the last half-century in reaching the upper ranks of the income ladder. The share of black men who are in the upper-income bracket rose from 13% in 1960 to 23% in 2016. Moreover, poverty among black men has dropped dramatically over the same time, with the share of black men in poverty falling from 41% to 18% since 1960.

It was the fact that she wasn't even OPEN to dating a bus driver that had folks up in arms. Now, he may not be able to totally relate to her lifestyle, but to say he doesn't even qualify simply because he's a bus driver is not cool. You never know. The guys who can better relate to her lifestyle probably won't treat her that well

I'd like to hear the whole interview with Eboni and Iyanla before casting her as having an "attitude problem". Would she be compatible with a bus driver? Personally, I don't see it. You do need to have some compatibility. Star Jones did marry an attorney so they had that in common. There probably is some house cleaning Eboni needs to do and perhaps some re evaluating of her mate requirements but im not going to diss her for not wanting to hook up with a bus driver. 🤷🏾‍♀️ ijs

Yes, we really have to do an assessment of ourselves. I dated a man with character and integrity, however there were emotional maturity issues that affected our relationship on his end. I took time after our split and realized I had some of the same issues. You have to see what’s in you that needs that fine tuning and do the work, I am better for knowing it now.

I am a 63 year old married woman, and Eboni is exactly correct. Black men need to own bus companies, not drive them. The mistake Eboni made is not seeking out other races of men who holds her same values, 10 years ago.

I agree. Great video. She's pretty and educated but I agree she's just dumb with relationships. She seems like she could be disrespectful and entitled when it comes to men. She strikes me as the type that wants a certain man to impress others in her circle. If she does marry the man she thinks she wants, it won't last.
