What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go awry. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.

I know this isn’t my place but i just have to say- as a woman with no children, you are so brave. I mean spartans buried women who died in childbirth with the same honors as soldiers who died in war. You’re a veteran in your own right, and you are not crazy. It’s hard, incredibly hard, especially to feel so helpless and alone, but you love your baby and struggling does not make you a bad mother. A bad mother has no worry about their child or how they’re turning out, but I can tell that you do. It’s okay to struggle and be unable to take care of yourself, because sometimes taking care of yourself just means keeping your head afloat. And I am a total stranger, I know, but I am so PROUD of you for keeping your head above water. You’re doing amazing and I promise you- things will get better. Things will be different. This is a moment in time, but it isn’t forever. You are strong and wonderful and you yourself are a blessing just like your baby is. It’s okay to have needs outside of your child, everyone does. You deserve a warm cup of tea or cocoa or whatever you prefer, and some time to yourself to cry, process, whatever you need. You are doing amazing.

DLJ you sound rather uneducated and ignorant. How great that it worked for you, but postpartum depression can be very very serious, and women who are dealing with it should always seek help from a doctor. Psychotherapy/cognitive therapy is a very useful treatment for postpartum depression (and depression in general) but with the help of a professional!

As a woman who suffered SEVERE postpartum depression with #1 that was a hair away from turning to full psychosis, I thank you for addressing this. I felt hopeless and suicidal and luckily I got help. It came back while pregnant with #2, and I was so bad I wanted to give my baby up for adoption because I was convinced she’d hate me and I was a horrible mother. My doctor caught it at 6 months and put me on medication immediately. I have a beautiful 15 year old daughter and 2 boys, age 19 and 8. I still struggle with depression on occasion but I deal with it and get treatment when I need it. Having a stable and loving husband has been my saving grace!!

The people to use the actual words ‘post partum depression’ is just so powerful. It’s so validating rather than to sugar coat it, it makes your feelings understood. It can be so isolating, recommending speaking to doctors and being so understanding is heartwarming, a lot of people brush it off as just typical struggling. People calling it what it is really removes the stigma, it can be such a struggle as a mother having a new baby and feeling like this. It’s beautiful to see people being so kind to a stranger

That has to be extremely hard. I definitely know what it’s like. I find it extremely hard to do daily life even do chores to help out my parents is extremely hard. Cleaning up my messes after I make myself a drink or food I have a really really hard time remembering to clean up afterwards. Because my brain goes onto 2-3 things at one time as soon as I get up from the table I totally forgot like that. The phrase "go see a therapist" can sometimes be like saying "you just need to not feed your family". Therapy is expensive! I quickly ran out of coverage after 10 sessions. Ten! Only enough to scratch the surface. But, talking and understanding is free. I encourage everyone to do research on post-partum and find a group. It is the next best thing to getting therapy.

Hints of being ambushed by John: 1. Discussing sensitive topics loud in public. 2. one person saying they have to use the bathroom after the first or second line 3. Postpartum depression, anxiety, psychosis, I went through this, it was absolutely the most scary time in my life and I have had a hard life in a lot of ways. I didn't even have the logical thought process this woman is having. I felt at anytime I might take something sharp and jab it in my neck, just as a reflex to having it in my hands, I couldn't sleep, I only felt fear and apathy. I absolutely would not have survived it without medical/therapeutic intervention and I thank god that I had the support I needed to get the proper treatment. I have an extremely sensitive radar for other moms going through it.

Anxiety is very dangerous, even for men. There are so many doctors that don't even care but prescribe pills...that's the dangerous part. All these people want is someone to listen. It happens to men, children and women all the time. Then it becomes depression which is even worse. Doctors NEED to listen more carefully to their patients. You can't solve everything with pills. Sarah Haines went through all of that by herself and I adore her. She's now a full time host on The View and I admire her spirit. Depression and anxiety is NO JOKE. It can lead to serious mental problems and severe health issues. A hospital won't help, but a therapist or a great friend can. I love people who extend their kindness and love to anybody who needs it. It's not a quick fix...people just want to be heard and hugged. A hug or kiss goes a long way for many. I'm depressed with anxiety myself but the people who want to talk to me are the best people I've ever met. God Bless.

The sleep deprivation Recovering from birth If you had stitches or a c-section The pain from your uterus contracting when you’re breastfeeding Breastfeeding problems like mastitis, engorgement, clogged ducts Feeling trapped because you’re at home all day and all night caring for the baby Lack of self-care which results in making you feel so much worse.

@MrLeFluffy1
@MrLeFluffy1 2 жыл бұрын
Ik it's been a year since your comment, but I just wanna say to have some faith in yourself. As someone with depression and anxiety, you KNOW what they feel like. You've fought those demons before. If anything, you are probably more likely to notice symptoms of PPD and get help for them quicker than someone who has never dealt with them before, because you can not only recognize them, but you understand that it's not only something to be treated seriously, but that there's nothing wrong with doing things like talking to a therapist to help you through that time. You've mentioned you have a wonderful and supportive partner - so even a fear of not recognizing it in yourself can be soothed because if you tell your partner about your worries, they can be sure to watch for those symptoms too, and can step in and say, "hey, this is getting serious, let's get the help you need, and I'll be there every step of the way". The most important part of dealing with PPD is simply knowing what it is and how to recognize it and when it's time to get help, because not knowing that there's help for what you're going through makes you suffer with it alone. You know depression and anxiety, you know those thoughts, and you now know an example of what PPD can look like or feel like. If you have a baby and feel like you might have PPD afterwards, you can get help. You can recognize it and get the help you need. And that's the important part! All in all, you've got this. Whether you've had a baby since commenting, or you're expecting, or maybe it isn't the right time yet, just know that you're not alone in that, and you've got this!

i see you, and i want you to know that this isn’t the end. if you do end up having PPD or PPA, i promise you that there are people out there like you and people out there who will help you. it might feel like a huge block, or like you’re failing, but this is by no means the end of the line. taking care of yourself is the best way to make sure you’re able to take care of your baby. be well, and take care.

The funny thing is, Postpartum depression doesn’t look the same for everyone. I had it bad after I delivered my triplets. It didn’t help that I had NO help from family or husband. I was so depressed, but I always dressed up, and showed up. No one that I didn’t tell, could tell I had PPD. I looked right in public, but when I was alone, was when it was hell. When it comes to opening up to others (which is normally hard for me) ALL of a sudden EVERYONE becomes an expert at parenting and has all the answers to what I should and shouldn’t do. So, I am extremely happy to see WWYD create an entire episode for this issue that has always been a stigma. TBH, I got out of it on my own! God has been my source of strength and encouragement! They are turning 3 years old next month, I’m good and the triplets are super loved!

My sister’s childhood friend killed her newborn last year. She was going in and out of the hospital with post partum psychosis and depression and hadn’t slept in 2 weeks. She was constantly asking for help and stated the reason she did it was so that the baby would never have to experience what she is experiencing. I really appreciate the message of this video.

I couldn’t help myself from crying because I’ve been in that situation before. I had a baby daughter with multiple syndromes and we were in the hospital all the time and I didn’t get help at all and I was crying all the time, I felt lost and depressed all the time and my husband said that I’m not taking care of him and that we should separate. All I wanted was for someone anyone to give me a hug but nobody was there by my side. I had an anxiety attack. But I still took care of her and treated her the same as my other daughters and I loved her, months later she died in her sleep due to cardiac arrest RIP my angel

It is so good that they have made this episode. So many women go through this, yet feel alone and that there is something wrong with them. This episode will likely make a difference to many mothers. It will hopefully help a lot father’s to better understand what their partner is going through. Any kind of depression is hard to deal with. But having it acknowledged by others, and realising that you are not alone, helps so very much.

I’m a new dad to a two month old, and my lady (a new mom) is still going through this. Even though she’s feeling much better than she did a month ago, it still affects her. Tbh, some days, I was a lot like the husband in this video, saying things like “you have to want to feel better” “stop speaking negatively” “You should see someone” or “you need to take get out the house”. Seeing this, a long with other videos is helping me understand that I just don’t get it! I feel like a complete ass clown for saying that stuff! She’s going through something horrible, and I have to be more understanding, and listen more, and be supportive! I’m going to go apologize again and do better.

So many women are scared that people will think they're crazy and try to take their child away from them. That's the real biggest issue in why so many don't seek help. My heart breaks for any mother who has to go through this. I went through depression after my first child/daughter was stillborn. I know it's obvious why I would go through depression. So I can't imagine having a child and then trying to deal with it. It's debilitating. Hugs to all moms out there.
