Paul gives the testimony and ministry of the risen king when the gentiles are brought into the fold. And Paul is clear that it is all about faith. The Jews were all about traditions of men. truth If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification. Let’s look at some basic fundamental facts based on extensive research & ongoing R&D. During fetal development a verity of biochemical agents are introduced which determine the development of the fetus. Major agents such as testosterone & estrogen & a host of others agents determine size, weight, hair color, eye color & sexuality along with a host of other traits. Variations in the amount & timing of the introduction of these agents have a major effect in our development. The fetus is a passive participant & has no influence in these matters. Sexuality, for example, & all other secondary traits are thus given to us. Well, this begs the question, is homosexuality a sin. If your religion or belief system states that it is, then there can be no argument. These are the rules based on this system’s dogma. If you accept this system, you must accept the rules. This is your only choice which is condemnation. If, however, you are in a belief system based on logic, reason, observation & common sense, & no reliance on spirituality the conclusion is totally different. Replacing ancient religion & mythology with reason leads to another conclusion. Leaving religions that use condemnation & ridicule for control, can be the first step in becoming a true human being minus any imposed or fabricated guilt. There exist many variations of human sexual expression. When you leave various ancient religious beliefs behind & chose knowledge based in research, you can see & understand the true nature of humanity. You leave ignorance, hatred, & prejudice behind. In the book Gay Straight & the Reason Why by Simon Levay PhD, explanations regarding this aspect of humanity are clearly explained & is based on research. While I am not gay, I highly recommend this book. Being gay is no more of a sin than having red hair. They are both based on genetics & clearly not a sin. There is nothing wrong with you. This is the true choice. Peace

Jesus is the “period” at the end of the sentence, not scripture. Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega.” Before scripture was, Jesus is, and Jesus always will be, even after scripture passes on. Dr Mohler, please address Park Street Church, Boston which, for 33 years now has had women elders and women pastors! I first went there two years ago, hoping it was the church I had attended 40 years ago only one day, only to learn that they had been going this route for so many years! I was very disappointed and discouraged because there are very few churches within a reasonable distance for me to be able to attend! I thought if THIS CHURCH HAS compromised a truth which is so clear in the Bible, why should I be surprised about those which had compromised it much, much earlier! I praise my God for leading me to a Reformed Baptist church which happens to be close to my home address!, and which I was not aware of!

I am convinced, as we see what modern Christianity is becoming, that the true church of Christ will be called out of religion all together. What is happening in ALL churches right now was prophesied as "the great falling away." There will come a time (as it always should have been) when the true followers of Christ will worship Him in spirit and truth and not in a church beholden to a denomination.

Here is a concept: Teach us what the Bible says! And I suggest that the Bible teaches us enough about how God identifies and qualifies our church leaders so that we may recognize them. Indeed, this tells us a good deal about church polity. But in any case, churches in trouble almost invariably have issues of godly leadership; there is something unscriptural about who is in charge or how such men handle the oversight. Or both. Closely read I Timothy, Titus, I Peter, Ephesians, and even Acts 6, where we find the first deacons. See what the initial qualifications are set forth there for the "mere" servants. Elders/bishops/pastors have even more requirements. (And, BTW, note that such men are usually referred to in the plural, and further note that even Paul did not work alone.) The collection of Bible doctrine regarding ecclesiology is not huge, but it is important to tend to diligently because errors here can so easily undermine sound teaching on all doctrine. And even when we read the Great Commission, it is not a command to the church only to evangelize, but also to teach the whole counsel of God to those evangelized.

While I do agree with a complementarian position I do recognize that this is a bit of a secondary issue. While I understand that all progressive christians have egalitarian views not all egalitarians are necessarily progressive christians. It is more that people are not familiar with the research and views that are involved with the complementarian vs egalitarian debate. Whereas progressive christians are usually redefining terms, unclear about what they believe or outright say they don't believe in certain ideas, which causes confusion for everyone.

When the pentecostal movement started, it was basically a movement cause by wesleyan theology, ("a second work of grace evolved into a second experience of baptism of the Spirit etc) and the pentecostals like the Assemblies of God and Church of God have been ordaining women from the very start. I dont agree with female pastors, but if the SBC is gonna tolerate "Reformed" churches to be a member who dont even make converts be baptized by immersion, the the very foundation of us being Baptist is gone anyway.

Opposing Jesus. Going against the work of the cross and his resurrection . They are not disciples of Jesus but their own desires/culture etc Roman 1:18 onwards is very clear.

This is like comparing apples to oranges. Women as pastors is a cultural issue not sin. Homosexual relations and marriage is a moral issue and is sin. I was raised in and pastored in a strong evangelical church that from it's beginning allowed for women pastors. They still haven't compromised on the issue of homosexuality. It is still called sexual sin.

is itreally a sin ?? read on If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification. Attempts to provide supposed biblical rationale for disregarding instructions for women in the local church including women serving as pastors have served as a template for the efforts to provide purported biblical justification for homosexual relationships. The same emphasis on ancient manners and customs rendering didactic NT passages understandable only to a small clique of seminary professors with very specialized knowledge. (Compare the Reformation doctrine of the perspicuity of scripture.) The same appeal to misconstrued anecdotes in non-didactic passages to overrule the clear teachings of didactic passages. The same bogus assertions that Greek words in the New Testament have been horribly mistranslated for 2 millennia and in all of our current English versions. The same use of passages like Gal 3:28 setting forth broad principles to nullify very specific teachings of other passages. The same insistence upon using "lenses" for allegedly interpreting scripture.

You have a multitude of sins going on here. First, when you do not conform your beliefs to the clear teachings of the Bible, you are in sin. This "feel good" Gospel is the sin of not teaching the full counsel of God. God is love and God is holiness and righteousness all together. He is not just love. God hates sin no matter the size or type. Jesus said to even LOOK upon your neighbor with anger in your heart is sin. So, ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But, the true Christian acknowledges this and repents. The non-Christian can put on the label of Christian and be wallowing around in sin. Also, those that side with sin are guilty of the sin themselves Timothy 5:22"...do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure." Also, see Luke 13:3 and 13:5. The clear teaching of the Bible is women are to silent in the church. Once you have allowed women elders/et al or certainly women in the pulpit you have fallen into apostacy. Since these false teachers consider themselves "oppressed", they side with any and all sin as long as the sin/sinner is considered "oppressed".

Sorry, Dr. Mohler, but the scripture is very clear if you read it without injecting your biases into it. Paul, in just one chapter of Romans, commends Phebe, a female deacon im the church at Cenchrea, Junia, a woman that he says is an apostle and Prisca who works with her husband as a ministry team. Equating women ministers with a sinful lifestyle clearly condemned by the Bible is just wrong.
@jeremymead8546
@jeremymead8546 19 күн бұрын
You are quite right but also wrong. Deacons were instituted for the distribution of welfare support, being part of a ministry team is not the same as leading or controlling it, and we are all called to evangelism. Paul was also very specific about the qualifications for Elders and even more specific that women could not have teaching authority over men in church. None of what he describes in Romans, contradicts his teaching concerning Elders or doctrinal authority. Neither does Dr Mohler equate women ministers with a sinful lifestyle. What he said in this clip was that indulging in eisegesis in one part of scripture undercuts your ability to resist the same by other people with respect to other parts of scripture.

@dan69052 two things 1, the Bible does not say being same sex attracted ( homosexual ) is a sin. It is very clear that the practice/action of homosexual sex is a sin, equally it is against anal intercourse male male or male female, likewise beastiality. But then it's also against the misuse of heterosexual sex when practiced in the wrong context. 2, Where you are mistaken is the idea that "being born that way " makes something all right. Humans are liars, cheats, murderers, pedophiles, greedy, violent, selfish. We are also born with physical faults, be they genetic or congenital . Holes in the heart, missing or deformed limbs, immune systems that attack our own bodies. We have laws against behaviour that comes completely natural to us, we have vast medical resources devoted to dealing with physical and mental pathologies/ problems that we are part of how we are made (born). The question arises, given how much effort we put into curbing very natural human behaviour and correcting the way we are born ( physical and mental ) why are so many people so fixated on sex that they deny the abnormality and undesirable nature of homosexuality. It is after all a major genetic failure ( ie it works against reproduction ) that or some kind of self cleaning system where undesirable genotypes are excluded from the gene pool going forward.

@@jeremymead8546 Paul is clear, but not on the side you want him to be in support of. First, a deacon, diakonos in Greek, is a minister or more literally, a servant, over a given ministry. That can be a benevolence ministry, but there is no written rule that limits the position to that function. Paul's requirements for a deacon in 1 Timothy 3 are virtually the same as those for a pastor which reinforces the authority of this position which properly serves under a group of elders, one of which is the pastor. Since Paul commends Phebe as an elder in the church at Cenchrea, and he specifies that she is a woman, if he truly means to disqualify women from ministry, we have a serious problem. The problem is with the reading of the text. The custom in Koine Greek is to use the masculine when addressing a group made up solely of men and the feminine when addressing a group exclusively composed of females, however, when addressing a mixed group, custom said you revert to the masculine, just as you would have in English up into about the 1980s when English teachers started pushing for gender inclusive language. Following their rules of grammar takes the conflict out of Paul's actions in commending Phebe and using the masculine to describe the qualifications for a pastor (elder or overseer; Paul uses two different terms for the same position depending on whether he's talking to Greeks or Hebrews). Now, on the issue of women keeping silent in the church from 1 Corinthians 14:34, if you go back to chapter 11, Paul clearly gives permission for women to speak in the church service as prophets or in praying, so, unless Paul is unstable, he cannot be issuing a blanket proposition. The context of the next verse would suggest that he is speaking to spiritually immature women who are being unintentionally disruptive by askkng their husbands to explain things in the teaching that they don't understand during the service. Paul tells them to wait until they get home to get clarification. What I find odd is that the churches that grab this verse out of context ignore the rest of the chapter in giving proper etiquette for prophesying or speaking in tongues which those same churches mostly deny as relevant for today being cessationist. Finally, the 1 Timothy 2:12 prooftext that so often gets quoted as proof positive that women are to be forever silenced within the community of the church, "But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. First, in verse 8 of that chapter, we have a word to the men which calls for men every where to pray with holy hands uplifted towards God. Now, if the prohibition against women is a universal requirement, then why don't those who cite the verse to condemn women not practice the admonition to men and require uplifted hands in prayer? If one is universal, then the other must be as well. We know from our previous texts that Paul has no problem with women speaking words of prophecy out loud for thdme edification of the church under the power of the Holy Spirit. The problem here is a mistranslation of the text. The Greek word Paul chose was gyne which has a couple of translation possibilities. It can be translated as woman as the KJV translates it, but it can also (and is more often) be translated as wife. Likewise, the word used in this verse, aner, can be translated as man or as husband. The more proper translation of the verse would thus be, I would not allow a wife to teach [her husband] nor to exercise authority over her husband. This eliminates the conflicts the KJV translation creates with Paul's other words and his actions. The problem us that this issue has become more about emotional attachment to a bad doctrine than about molding theology to the Bible texts and preserving the unity of Scripture. It's the modern day equivalent of the Traditions of the Pharisees that Jesus and Paul fought so hard against in their day.

The Lord Jesus decides who goes to heaven and He decided a long time ago that those who engage in homosexuality will not inherit the Kingdom of God-1st Cor. 6:9-10. He not only condemns it, He incinerated all the homosexuals in Sodom and Gomorrah. " Even though you already know this, I wish to remind you that Jesus, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, later on destroyed those who did not believe. The angels who did not keep their first domain but deserted their own dwelling place, He has also kept in darkness and eternal chains for the judgement of the great Day. Likewise, Sodom, Gomorrah, and the cities around them had given themselves over to sexual immorality and unnatural relations in the same way as these angels. They are presented as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire."-Jude vs. 5-7.
