People never fail to complain about the "slow" times in these Olympic races. What could possibly be more irrelevant than the finishing time? What matters is who brought home the medals. You're never likely to see record times in races this important because no individual is going to risk her medal chances by taking the pace out all by herself. The only exception is when an 800 meter runner of superhuman ability like Rudisha decides to throttle the race from the starting gun. Anything longer than half a mile, and the pack is going to work together to catch the front runner.

If you are in the Olympic final, and you don't have the kick to win, you should be running your guts out to get as good a time as possible." So true; they should know that and run their race and push the sit n kickers. I hate seeing runners fall over like that. These opportunities come once every four years.

Exactly True. What a shame to the Olympics when athletes cheat.

Jamal - Gold Rowbury - silver🥈 Klocova - bronze🥉 Medalist for the "clean girls" I hope the Olympic channel would insert a correction on the medalists on the last part of this video. For all we know this was a doped race.. Slowest doped race 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Jamal should have pushed the race since the beginning since she doesn't have the finish speed.

Jamal, Rowbury, Uceny is what the places would have been if not for the doping and tripping of Uceny by Aregawi.

But now they are doing blood passports to detect any changes between tests rather than just looking for substances. It's a good start. I'm glad they caught Cakir Alptekin, but I am still suspicious of Bulut. Look at her last lap, she tried to make a break already with less than 400 to go, so it's a little unusual to think she could just kick twice like that at the end of a 1500. Props to her if she could... If not, then I feel for Maryam who deserved the gold. `
