As a Muslim i knew that our religion is 100% complete and there's nothing that happens by coincidence. We've got a full month in the year "RAMADAN" to fast and even we got recommendations from our prophet Muhammad (saw) to fast Monday and Thursday each week. NOW i'm thankful and grateful for God that he made me Muslim. And yep thanks too for those incredible facts

Fasting saved my life. You have to do it correctly though. You can not forget about your electrolytes. I can't even begin to explain how it pulled me out of depression and helped with my hormones. If you have an eating disorder, I don't recommend it. But, most cultures and religions have fasting as part of their practice. Thank you for this topic. Many lives have been changed for the better.

Hi there hope you're doing well 😊. I just want to correct something that the woman said in the video . It's about how women shouldn't be fasting during their period due to hormones and all of that .She said that it's something brand-new whereas actually it's not . This information was already in Islam and we've been using it , since Women can’t fast during their period out of Allah’s mercy toward them, because loss of blood weakens them. If a woman were to fast on her period, she would be weakened both by menstruation and by fasting, in which case fasting would be an unfair burden and may even be harmful in Ramadan which is the month when Muslims fast .Although its roots go back further, scholars typically date the creation of Islam to the 7th century, making it the youngest of the major world religions. This is so good and 100% true I was in a very narcissistic marriage. I ate badly, I ate late I was anxious and stressed and couldn’t lose any weight I left him, walked 5 miles a day, I do fasting but not to the extremes. I work out, I eat clean. I have been protecting my gut health for 2 years and have lost 2 1/2 stone and never felt so happy, so positive and so healthy Positivity breeds more health gains, but the fasting is so good for you 😊 I didn’t focus on the weight loss I focussed on my mind and clarity and the results have been incredible

Fasting is an ancient practice across all religions and cultures. Fasting also slows the effects of aging and if done long enough will even heal the body. I did 3 consecutive 72 hour fasts within two weeks last spring and scars that I’ve had for years faded and some went away completely. Also my cycle is much lighter and I don’t get bloated when fasting during my cycle. Because your body doesn’t have food to digest, it will use that energy (normally used to digest) to repair your cells and tissue.

I do 24 hour fasts 2 days a week usually unintentionally because I still have energy. The other days I eat when I feel hangry and I notice I'm being mean lol but that usually happens in 12 hour spans. I read a comment about how this information was triggering but I think if you don't have a HEALTHY POSITIVE relationship with food this is not something you should look into. Food is like water, it's abundant and needed for energy and health. I view food as something that should NOT to be consumed in excess, to me over eating is like leaving a faucet on all night because I like the sound of running water.

I have been waiting for this episode for so long! I have listened to so much about fasting and have literally never heard anyone discuss women issues and fasting. Like should I be fasting if I am trying to get pregnant, fasting and our cycles, how fasting impacts perimenopause and menopause. I appreciated that she talked about perimenopause and that it happens in our late 30s and 40s as we feel healthy and young, so we do not even realize it is happening and as she said no one is supporting us through this processing and the emotions it produces. Thank you so much as we need more of these discussions!!!!!!

Everyone's different. My experiences were: (1) disturbed sleep via increased sensitivity to light addressed via sleep mask + (2) weight gain due to persistent heightened insulin levels thanks to eating/drinking habits + overall sedentary lifestyle ~ addressing via Intermittent Fasting + decreased processed foods/grains + exercise including calisthenics, light strength training + core. Still an IF newbie, but found it super helpful + feel better.

LOVE THIS! 👏🔥 and I haven't even watched it fully. I just love the fact that *finally* we're getting to talk about these important health topics while the focus is on women. That is so needed! Intermittent Fasting, and the Wim Hof method (cold showers specifically), for instance, are healthy practices that definitely need to be studied and adapted to women's bodies, hormones, cycles, and the more. It's about time we (and science!) focus particularly on the impact it has on women. This is so refreshing! And important 💚

Fasting rhythm of 12/12 is the easiest and safest thing you can do under any life circumstances. Suitable for: scepticals, busy people, people who eat a loooooot, etc. After a few months of practicing it, it's hard to imagine living another way. And no restrictions, nothing, kilos going down slowly but surely, forever. Actually, the sense of cleanliness after 12 hours fast (which is basically sleeping at night), will also provoke the need to eat better, healthier foods.

But yeah if you have your evening meal somewhere between 6-8 and your breakfast around this time too that is your 10-12 hours of fasting right there without even trying. So I am a little baffled why people even call this fasting. Where exactly is the deprivation? I call skipping actual meals fasting.

@@plan4life I see. Fasting can actually be both. Fasting is the willful refrainment from eating and sometimes drinking. From a purely physiological context, "fasting" may also refer to the metabolic status of a person who has not eaten overnight.

This is so helpful! I’ve done multi day fasts before without a problem, I do OMAD on a regular basis. But I’m struggling this week, and it’s day 24 for me. I thought I just needed to push through. I just ate at 18hrs and I’m feeling so much better.

Thanks for reading appreciate it 😊

Sometimes I think the symptoms/issues associated with periods are grossly over exaggerated. Plus I've read before that its actually only A small percentage of women who have all those mood etc changes. Neither me nor most of my girl friends have these issues and the ones that do are not to this extent. I can fast normally throughout my entire cycle. Actually I have less appetite while I'm bleeding due to cramps the first few days anyways. i think this is def an area where mentality around your period makes a diff

One of the top 5 interviews on your channel. Her content was excellent, and both of you tieing the scientific information back to your life experiences is what we women do best. I do have some suggestions however. I think only advertising your book and not Dr. Shaw's book is bad form. She's doing the interivew to promote her book, right? I had to go Amazon and search by her name to find her book. As for Dr. Shaw, I think telling people, "you don't have to be perfect with your diet" in an interview, comes off all wrong, on so many levels. I recommend she does the whole interview exactly as she did it without that one line (that she repeated a few tims) and it would be better received by everyone, especially men.. Plus she contridicts it with saying, "try a cleanse and see how good you feel." I could list a few reasons why this comes off so badly but I won't as it won't come off right here. Once again, phenomenal interview!! thanks!

I've watched the full video and it's amazing it has great information and yeah most of those informations are already adapted in islam starting from the food that is toxic and she gave examples like alcohol which is Forbidden for muslims plus we don't eat pork for the same reason and she also gve the example of ramadan when muslims fast so yeah , also there is more things she said that we already do as muslims like eating smal portions because as she said it lower inflammation and always leaving a portion after eating to drink water and to breath because if we ate a lot we wouldn't be able to breath properly . Here is another thing in islam that she mentioned night routine , before sleeping we as muslims we have to do our ablutions which basically washing our hand , mouth brushing teeth, washing feet and wiping our head and ears as she said ib tge video it helps decrease the temperature and there a lot of other things let me give you an example our morning routine as muslims is to wake early in morning before sunrise and do the same ablution then praying and if we're hungry we can drink some water and ate 3 dates than it's preferable to read some coran or any book after starting our life with a really peaceful and great mindest . Plus islam taught us that if we want to fast we should eat early in the morning and start fasting from sunrise to dawn just like she mentioned in the video . That's why I am proud to be a muslim and i want people to know more about this beautiful religion ❤ ♥ . Thanks for reading 😊
