I've often shared this message with women in my circle..when a man approaches you attempting to date you (& there is mutual attraction) the discovery phase starts upon him opening his mouth. For me, being seen does not have to do with commenting on my looks or wardrobe but honoring my preferences if they persist after discussion. I wanted a medium size ice chest but my boyfriend insisted I needed a big one. I wanted real flowers, not silk, but he insisted on giving me silk. Even though I told him I wanted to wait until marriage to have sex, he did everything he could to manipulate me into it. I felt unheard and disrespect. I was quickly disappearing as a person. Terrific podcast!😊 I haven’t dated in a few years and I have come to the conclusion that, I don’t want to date a man unless he has a relationship with God and date with an intention of something serious AND be comfortable with platonically dating me without dating others. Healthy boundaries. He should feel self love and participate in self care, mind, body and soul. The world is so very worldly but really getting to know each other and not allowing social media or his associations to negatively influence our relationship. The right man will be willing to make the investment. I’m open to receiving who is right for me, when the time is right.
