Close Grip OHP is one of my favorite movements, I increased it from 110lbx10 to 135lbx8 in the matter of a couple months, it brought my OHP max from 185 to 200lb. I have a mock meet in 4 weeks so I will find out then if it has any bench press carryover. Based on my top triples in my current peaking phase, I think it did!

How would you know your cns needs a rest? Same deal, fatigue and all that?
@thrashattack21853 жыл бұрын
@Ryan you can fry your cns with more than 1-3 reps also. Its the high % of ur max that does it though. And yeah what he said just have 72 hours between your heavy squats / deadlifts and bench workouts(individually for upper and lower body) and if you fry it, you WILL know. In the beginning most likely it will affect your next work out and you’ll know cuz ur muscles are recovered but you wont be able to lift the same weight. Usually it wont be a terrible “fry” for a beginner, its when ur advanced that you can be out for 2-3 weeks after destroying urself.

Is it better on seated press to not do full range? Not judging just wondering.
@danielmeyer10133 жыл бұрын
My guess is that with the amount of weight he's pressing, he's trying to protect his shoulders. Full range of motion can stress the shoulders, so its safter not to (at 405 pounds)
