Everyone seems to focus on Little Richards eccentric behavior and over the top one liners. But this man was as smart as a whip! The man had a voice like no other and talent to match. This black man from Macon Georgia had a dream and went for it! With a powder puff and a piano he tore down Jim crow and performed in places during the 50's normally would not have been so accommodating to black folks. I am sure he is up heaven telling everyone about "Lucille" and how " The girl can't help it"! RIP

Drummer Earl Palmer needs to get some credit for the jumping Little Richard sound. His New Orleans backbeat drum work defined Rock and Roll in the early days (1954-60) when he played in dozens of hit songs for multiple artists such as Lloyd Price, Fats Domino, Eddie Cochran, Little Richard, Larry Williams, Elmore James, Ritchie Valens, Duane Eddy, Sam Cooke, T-Bone Walker, Chan Romero, Phil Spector, Ricky Nelson, Ray Charles and dozens more!
