Wonderland Curious Nature at New York Botanical Garden (NYBG)

Hi I'm Mercury, and I'm Inspired by the world around me! Join me on my adventures and hopefully you will be inspired too.
There is an Alice in wonderland themed exhibit going on at the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) There were whimsical fern dresses designed by Oscar De La Renta, Garden that bring thoughts of Lewis Caroll strolling through an English garden imagining , a curvy house modeled after the scene when Alice grew larger than life made from mushroom bricks and a queens rose garden. There was even a topiary of the white rabbit.

It's really worth a visit, and the grounds are huge. It's difficult to see it all. It's nice to pick a few sections and linger and spend time there. I loved being in the the rose garden for that

Yes & Yes -- like toy story but very less creep I love that you have cos played at charitable events (JD style) What character/s were you when you cos played? and i totally agree -- where possible cos play? and it doesnt have to be elaborate either - i.e a simple red sparkly shoe will do

For those events I was Wonder Woman, but I have made/worn so many characters (dalek, doomsday, sweeney todd, Vala from stargate, catwoman, Jatzia Dax, the gorn, a moogle riding a chocobo.... the list goes on and on)

Hi Mercury, Thank You so much for sharing this! I'm from New England too but disabled, so I'm not able to get up there to see the Wonderland Exhibit (definitely wanted to). Reply: Super Awesome! It looked like it comes to life after dark (thats how precise it is); like every single one of them comes to life at night. I bet if you were to go back tomorrow they would not be in the same exact position (my imagination is wild and the exhibit is lively) And, i think that this is a great opportunity to cos play -- imagine dressing up as Alice or is that too much? Why reserve cos for cons, right? I think toddlers have had it right all long and have figured out the joys of life #DressUp 🥰 Did you figure out what the eyes are made of?

Oh my gosh, like toy story but with plants. It's both creepy and amazing at the same time :) And I have cos played in locations other than cons. I loved doing charitable events. I did cos play at a Toys for tots and also at the Intrepid museum for an event before. But there are so many locations that make for great cos play photos, If the locations allow it, then why not :)
