John with his legendary bass playing and ability to play two songs at once Roger with his kick ass microphone spin and strong voice Keith with his godly drumming and ability to play on a destroyed drum kit And Pete with his windmill strumming, uncontrollable guitar, power slide, and magic fingers. God bless these guys

I'm in audio and always think of the tech who made sure the rig was put together so it could withstand the G forces. That is extra care in the assembly of the XLR. 1. So it won't come apart. 2. The mic is operational after the abuse (and possibly during).

I'll take these guys over Zeppelin any day. Not even the Stones rocked this hard!
@connorburkhardt34109 жыл бұрын
The who is legendary, but NOTHING beats led Zeppelin. The who had a good variety when it came to musical styles, but zep could do anything. Blues, folk, jam, hard rock, progressive rock, and even soft rock were covered by Led. I'd take bonham over moon, plant over daltrey, and Page over Townsend any day. However, Jones vs entwistle ends up as more of a tie.
@SweetParadise689 жыл бұрын
I like Led Zeppelin, but I don't have much respect for them as artists because they blatantly ripped off many songs, lyrics, and riffs from their heroes. Many of their most popular songs were stolen, and every time you try to point out the evidence to a Led Zeppelin fanboy, he just covers his ears and completely disregards it. They're a great cover band with a very distinct sound, but they should at least have had enough respect for their heroes to give them credit and call their songs "covers" like the Who did, but that's not how you make money now is it? By the way, I think both bands were made up of excellent musicians (except I personally don't like Plant's voice... I used to, but it gets on your nerves after a while) but I don't think the technical ability of the players in a band really matters... This is rock and roll after all, and that's not what rock and roll is about. As for which band is "better", it's totally up the individual. You obviously like Led Zeppelin more, and that's fine, but don't say they're "better". Notice how I said that "I'll take these guys over Led Zeppelin any day", I never said the Who were any "better" because it's simply not true. Anyone can have a favourite or a preference, but neither band is "better" than the other, music is totally subjective, and not everyone in the world shares your exact taste in music.
@GTurbo949 жыл бұрын
Tom Laveign If you think they were bad because they 'stole' ideas, then you should take a long hard look at the Rolling Stones
@SweetParadise689 жыл бұрын
Guy Turbo I don't think they're "bad", I just don't have much respect for them as artists. I like lot of their music. Also, the Stones are much better than most bands when it comes to giving credit to the original artist; they always say when they're covering a song, and they always give songwriting credits to the original artist. I can't actually think of any instances when the Stones intentionally "stole" anything from another artist without giving credit. Can you give me an example?
@GTurbo949 жыл бұрын
Tom Laveign Firstly, there is no such thing as stealing in music unless you literally make no changes to the music whatsoever. Secondly, I could not be fucked to go into historical depths and explain to you that all blues music stems from the black culture of 1940s-50s America. I am just going to say this: The Stones would have "stolen" half of their music from black blues/folk buskers In America that could not take their music anywhere because of the colour of their skin. Why do you think Jimi Hendrix went to the UK? He couldn't make it in America and he also wanted to meet Clapton. This is a bit of a mess and i doubt it will change your opinion, but seriously, if you think Led Zeppelin stole music......my God...

I'd like to see any of the younger set of flash players play Pete's licks while jumping several feet off the ground. Plus they can't write anything that touches this. Can you believe this came out in 1971---43 years and nobody has yet made more effective use of the synthesizer--the ones they had then were less powerful than what you can buy today at Target for $80!

Kirk Turnage made the comment "greatest rock band ever", & I'm inclined to agree with him. I'm also a great Rolling Stones fan & have been for years, & those boys earned their place in the annuls of rock history. I was a teenager growing up in Tottenham, London, England, during that time. I remember seeing The Who in their early days, & watched them gather strength from year to year. Their sound is fantastic given that you only have the one rhythm/lead guitar player, the drummer & a fantastic bass player, & Roger Daltry on dynamite vocals. It's hard to explain to anyone what it was like growing up in England during that time era. You really had to have been there, & lived it! It was an exiting time to be alive. There was an electricity in the air, everyone I knew was doing something, or getting a band together. 1962-1966 was the greatest time in my life. I've not experienced anything like it again since.

It was recorded at Shepperton Studios for The Kids Are Alright. this was recorded in 1978, a few month's before Keith Moon's death, and was his last public performance. The movie was released in 1979. This was actually the second recording of this and Baba O'Reily. The first set recorded had atrocious playing by Moon, so the director wanted a do-over. There are snippets of that first session seen in Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who.
@MasonWestWriting10 жыл бұрын
gasaholic47 Thanks for the info. I will look for the movie when I get a chance. If I remember right, it was probably 1977 when I saw them in Houston at a basketball arena then called the Summit (it's now Joel Osteen's church). Anyway, I more or less have the time period correct. It was the first show of the tour, so, on one hand, they were fresh and Daltry's voice was in top form; on the other hand, Daltry dropped the mic a lot--probably six times in the course of the show. But it was great stuff. I sat in the 12th row--pretty close to the action.

Glad they caught a lot of Pets act, It was really something seeing him live, right in front of me.1969.. I love his jumping around & bowling arm strum, its an act but he looks like hes having a good time, I remember leaving mesmerized by Pete & Kieth,& the rest .. Super fine memory... Most film footage is just Rodger, Glad to see this one.

Good stuff, guys. I just saw your scam bait video from a few yrs ago, and I lmao. I had to subscribe. I also just saw your band video, sideways. Lmao. The music was great to listen to. I hope i can find more scam bait videos and more of your band videos. I'm a life long drummer / percussionist of 52 yrs. I'm 57. I love playing and listening to many styles and era's of music. Your drummer sounds and plays excellent in the 2 videos i saw and enjoyed. Thanks.

Thank you. This was the only reason I looked up this song. YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! Followed by that poetic line: Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
