***** Music, as you know, is a matter of personal taste. If I gave you a list of bands it wouldn't mean anything to you as they were local. More famous ones would be,for example, Groundhogs, Family, Pink Faries, Edgar Broughton Band, Blossom Toes, Stackwaddy , Chicken Shack, Fresh Maggots and I could go on. Anyway that's just my opinion anyway. Check them out on KZbin.

Robcatist I'm sure he was better from start to finish earlier in his career but his drumming and Pete's singing on this version is superior to earlier performances that were more faithful to the studio version. This version is freer and played with more abandon.

AWESOME In-Your-Face Rock anthem!. I am 48 and trying to get out there & pound the pavement for a job-again-and this gets me going. Was watching "Behind the Music" the other day-it WAS addictive, then. Topic-"Bon Jovi" Apparently Jon's vocal chords were worn out on tour. See Roger Daltry-he belted every note out. Pete was his wiser counterpoint-and maybe a bit of a rest-but still! My 11 year old son is a rocker, and he adores the Who, Zeppelin, and "the artistry" of the Beatles.

Roger Daltrey has one of the straight-up ballsiest voices in rock. I never had the opportunity to see the original line-up live, but did see the more modern version of 'The Who' about 5 years ago. I'm not a drummer, so I can't offer a technical 'critique' of Keith Moon, but I know this: I LOVE what he does. Not necessarily on this track, but when he was younger and slightly more 'with it'. Also, on this song he was restricted by keeping to the backing track, which is a pain in the ass. One of my fave drummers. RIP x

Its actually a recorded loop playback that Pete Townsend made by accident before writing the song. Just experimenting around on the Moog. Some of it is played backwards. Keith Moon wore the headphones to keep time with the playback because he couldn't hear clearly it on the floor monitor. Prelude to the modern in-ear monitors I guess?
