Reminds me of when my grandmother would can on her wood stove, she loved it. This is a skill so many people need to learn. 😁 Cheryl

I think it will be a great way to can. It will be a challenge to keep the heat under control in the summer, but I'll have to see how that goes. Thanks, Cheryl

Yes! My grandmother also used to cook on a wood stove and it was such an awesome thing to watch!

Janette, I did not know you can put the chicken parts in the jars like this! I will have to try this! and maybe someday I will get a wood cook stove, I will be learning from you.
@TheNealsHomestead4 жыл бұрын
Yes, just cram those piece down in the jar in any old way, just don't let it be too far up in the top of the jar. Meat is one of the easiest thing to can, it just takes a long processing time. Thanks, Wendy.

That’s an awesome stove. I enjoy seeing the lawn mower used as a buggy as well. lol. My grandfather did that a lot. Watching you guys and your channel are a blessing and reminds me of a lot of things we do and did with our family. Thank you and stay healthy and safe!

He had to have his buggy or he couldn't get much done. Walking becomes an exhausting endeavor. He accomplishes a lot with his lawn mower and skid steer. I think I'm going to get along with the stove. Thank you for visiting.

Great job! I'm still learning. I have been waterbath canning on my Flameview wood cookstove for a while but just tried my new all American pressure canner on it last summer with canning corn, it's a learning curve for sure. Now we are looking for a new stove with the damper control, either a Ashland or a Heco, if anyone wants to comment and let me know if they have one and like it.

You are a true thinker because most of the homestead channels are for nothing more than the $$ and your reason to let the pressure to release not as often is a good eye awakener. I guess that is why you own such a beautiful homestead.

Excellent ! That was very interesting. I can on a glass top. I'm not in the market for a wood stove yet, but that was cool. I can boneless chicken, I remove the bones. How do you use the bone in chicken? Including the neck? I've only used that stuff for broth. Come on, give me your secrets 😆. Thanks for letting me visit. ~Pam~
@TheNealsHomestead4 жыл бұрын
Was canning it for Jeremiah. They don't mind picking out the bones while they eat. I don't usually can whole chickens like that. I'll do leg quarters and leave the bone. When I use the canned meat, I'll take it off the bone before I make soup. I think it tastes good when it's canned on the bone. Plus, it's fast and easy to can this way. Thanks, Pam.

Great share, absolutely love your wood cook stove it’s beautiful, it’s quite an art to get it regulated but you will get it figured out before long. Love the All American canner those are the best I hear. Your chicken looks great. Christmas Blessings my friends

Mummy, you have done really good with this preservation method. It kind of needs extra deligence. May I please know how long can the canned chicken go with regards to presevation?
@TheNealsHomestead4 жыл бұрын
The canned chicken should be able to be stored for years. After I get the operation of the stove figured out, it won't take so much attention. Thank you.

Oh no, is your roof leaking? I see all the water on the floor.
@TheNealsHomestead3 жыл бұрын
It's not the roof that leaks, it's the concrete wall.
