Thank you for your knowledge! I never heard of a rack placed hanging from the ceiling a VERY GOOD IDEA! THANK YOU ☺️👍💯

Also I have read that the best way to save fruit and veggies is dehydration as it keeps the most nutrients and other goodies inside for you to enjoy. I store most of my dehydrated items in mason jars for easy retrieval. One day I would like to have enough dried foods to be able to make a meal by rehydrating my dried goods.

Hi Julie Good video, glad you got the goodies to harvest, it was a dry summer here and fruit was smaller. I dry fruit as well but I find it is hard to peel dried fruit off the paper towel so I use parchment paper or a silicon fruit roll up tray. I also at times add spices to the fruit to give some a different flavour. Do you get fruit flies inside? I tried different types of vinegar to catch fruit flies but it didn't work so well this year. Happy harvesting!

Just a thought, i wonder if juicing fruit first then drying the remaining pulp would work, I'll have to experiment.

Great explanations of dehydrating and canning! One thing you might mention is it might take more water in the pressure canner if you are canning something like meat that takes over an hour to can it. You have to have enough water in the canner so it doesn’t run out of water during that time. I use more than an inch in the pressure canner. I’m in the throes of all the produce as well, so much canning, freezing, dehydrating! By the way, you look really nice in this dress!

Yes, good point on the water level.. It is a hectic time isn't it?!

Perhaps you could do a video showing the actual canning process? And with my apologizes, are you staying up north for the winter? Weren't you in Okla for winter last year? I'm confused on your living situation & traveling between 2 states. I'm in OK & found you late last year, saw you gals headed north in the spring & it appears y'all are still up north? I'm back in school, so my focus has been elsewhere.

How much time do you spend doing all this work? Wouldn’t it be more cost efficient to just buy all these items.

You look so tired. I hope canning season isn't too long. How do the kids work with you? Do they pick the crop or peel or anything? I am enjoying your videos a lot. I've always been curious about cooking on an old-fashioned wooden stove.
