Great trick man! I'm in Brazil in Sao Paulo and painting my doors and baseboards around the house and his technique helped me solve a problem here. Very grateful for your video. Thank you!

I tried this method over the weekend. You make it look easy.

You make it look easy, Zach. Very nice.

Pigments? Ground? Im not sure what you mean. It's a eggshell latex base-coat tinted to an orange yellow type color, and the glaze is made with trans oxide colorants which include a brown, black, red, and yellow color mixture to your own preference. I hope that answers your questions. :)

beautiful doors. maybe you could come up with a way to fill in the grain on the vertical "muntins" to make that grain run vertical. wow that looks killer! I hope they are paying you well! really beautiful work

Amaaazing! Hope to get brave enough to attempt this on my own doors. Love the technique! Thanks!

that's a cool way to do a garage door looks like you have plenty of open time with your glaze

@ vornam . I understand what your saying because realistically its not the case with real wood. However, these doors have a prefab grain pattern that runs the same direction and when I try to brush vert against that, that metal surface grain pattern comes through and makes the door look really choppy and eratic. So I've just took to doing the whole segment of door as if it's one solid piece and it seems to have a smoother, flowing, wood effect. If the door was a smooth surface, we could make it

I’m curious if I should use oil where I am. I’m in Canada, summers can be hot but winters are also pretty brutal. My door also faces north east, it doesn’t get much more than 30 minutes of sun on it. I’m wondering if the oil would hold ip better to the different temperatures and extremes.

They're brushes made by Omega in Italy. Yeah, they're pretty pricey. I got them at a local paint store that used to have lots of faux tools but they don't carry them anymore. So if you find them , give me a shout.

Hi Zach, very nice work on this video, and thanks for sharing! You mention a top coat for the doors when done, what would you recommend?

@zakk1000 in the descriptions I read, the term "ground" is interchangable with "base", I guess I was reading stuff that was kinda old school, lol nice work btw I tried plain" yellow oxide" universal colorant in primer wich is just titanium white and it looks just like a paint stir stick ha ha

Exceptional; you my friend have a rare talent the rest of us wish we had. How are you able to see detailed color so intensely is mystifying. Better developed retinas maybe.

Hi, i live in Texas and love what you've done to this garage door. I want to do mine, however if my garage door is already the standard light yellowish look look, do I still need to do a base coat?

Looks good if he was one solid piece of wood, it would have looked more realistic if the raised panels looked separate, from the framing that holds them together, Knowing how a paneled door is put together helps✌

Where did you get that brush? I've seen some like it in the $65 to $80 range. Is that what you are using? Thanks.

Love your videos. l think you're missing out on an opportunity to post samplers and colour recipes. Many who aren't going to use your services for geographical reasons would purchase your recipes and technique booklets online. l know l sure would.

@raraoary1. I'll give you a hint. The company is based in Vero beach Florida, and before you can buy they're product, you gotta spend about 1800. On one of they're classes. :) but hey, it's worth it!!

WRONG.....you never start painting anything from the bottom up,.....and the panels are usually grained first then the rails then the styles,,,,,,

That really makes sense. What do you use for a glaze? I want to do my garage door and he wont tell how to mix the glaze.
