Thanks! I haven't actually had the chance to work any trunk wood, just a big limb, so hopefully you get some with either a lot of heart wood or lots of figure/character.

That turned out very nice. Good job. I was wondering, have you used this technique with the brass pin before? And if you did, does it hold up well or does it loosen up after time? I’m just curious because it’s a pretty slick idea and I would like to try it out sometime.

Thanks! I have used the brass pin in one other salt cellar, and it does loosen a little, but not so bad that it doesn't function, the hole in the wood just wears a little. I didn't come up with the idea, I saw another turner do it.
