Quite neat though I did freak out with the drill press cleanout. For the years I've followed these things on youtube and considering the number of jacarandas in the country, it's the first time I recall seeing it used. How did you find working with it?

I like Jacaranda a lot. The trees look great in full bloom, and the timber has interesting grain characteristics. It's also very easy to work with, which is a pleasant change from my normal.

Beautiful clocks, Kuffy! Sort of mid-century modern you think? You don't want to "overkill" time so maybe you can hang the other one in the shop?

I don't know what kind of style they are. I just planned out a few squares in a way which covered the mechanism and allowed me to connect a dowel to each hour mark. I'm thinking Ill put the other clock in the bathroom, so hopefully I don't stand in the shower for far too long when I am running late for work 😂

I would have made a small french cleat to mount the clock. That way it's always level. Great work, very nice.

Perhaps a smaller sideways dowel through your side dowel to add strength to your, what was it three and nine. Lovely clock through

I think just glue will be perfectly fine for this application. The issue was more about not being able to clamp those pieces in place while the glue cured.

Very Slick Clock. The drill press depth stop made short work of those recesses.

Yes, you and me both, here in the UK we are not allowed dado blades by law (nanny state) but I thought Australia would have been able to get them

Australia is a nanny state on so many things these days. Though we are allowed to have dado blades. My saw arbor is too short to accept a dado stack.

Awesome clock design, Kuffy 😁👌. I am surprised that dowels at the very end are held on by just glue. Thats the beauty of learning from pro woodworkers, haha 😁 👍

Glue is super strong stuff. It is a long grain to short grain connection, should be more than suitable for this application.

Thanks mate. I get those keyholes from Bunnings in the picture hanging section. It's a cheap and easy solution for a few things.

The pull tabs on beer cans does the key hole clip for free .great video as usual.always a pleasure to watch.

For some reason, using a forstner bit in a drill press is one of my favourite woodworking tasks. I don't like the mess it makes though :D
